| amazing night! Kool Haus was incredible, everybody was friendly, music owned. First opening till closing I've ever pulled without the aid of drugs. 4 Hour drive though :( |

Good night, only stayed till about 3:30 though. I think I'm going to just stop going to the Guv with my brother. First time = Picotto comes on late so 15 minutes into it my brother wants to leave, Josh Gabriel is going to come on so 15 minutes before he's on we leave, last night Deep Dish comes on and the first song he spins my brother wants to leave. Luckily I got a ride from someone else :D.
I came for Freeland and DD but Nic played some pretty nice choons. Oliver seamed a little better than the last two times I've been as well and it was nice that they finaly made use of the lights.
To be honest I wasn't blown away by Deep Dish but he did play some pretty wicked tracks. Too bad I didn't get to hear Say Hello, it would have been the pinacle of my night :(. |

As much as I love(d) their style and their productions, I gotta say the following:
Nic Fanciulli - boooring.
Deep Dish - even more booooring.
DJs @ The Drink - now that's how you're supposed to play at a party of this magnitude, mo'az!!!
I hate to say it, but I am totally giving up on Deep Dish... I've thought about it, and it really isn't the crowd's fault for not dancing and just standing around. After watching the main room from above for a good 45 mins to an hour, I hate to say it but Deep Dish and Nic were boring the room out of their asses with that monotonous proggy/druggy house... niggaz, there's 2,000 people in that room, most of whom paid $30-50 to see you, and this is what you give them. Dissapointing...
on the other hand, the real party was upstairs in the Drink ;) the booty shaking, tribal/prog house, pumpin' tunes and people just getting lost in music... if I didn't have to work from 7am today I would've ended up at Danny T as well. But definitely no more Sleep Dish for me. |

This was the first time out to Guv for me this year. I hung out at in KH a bit, totally impressed by the awesome dancers. I love the energy of jungle, but last night I didn't have the energy myself to partake in the frantic dancing.
Instead I spent most of my time in the Orange Room and the Drink.
I was sober for a good part of the night, and it was so wicked and fun dancing to the breaks. I kept thinking how good it would be if there were more breaks nights in town. (There's the breaks night at Boa, of course.) Though I did not appreciate all the traffic going through the room between Guv and Koolhaus.
Then later on I wasn't as sober , and I went upstairs to the Drink and was blown away by the incredible music and vibe. It was basically Comfort Zone, except 100x cleaner. Plenty of room to dance in the loungey area at the far end. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the water in the men's washroom was mirky and warm! Yuck!
I only spent maybe 10 minutes in total in the main room. I had no reason to considering that the music in the other rooms were so much better. Left around 8am. |

^^^ I totally agree with you about DD
I don't totally dislike them but I will never pay any money to go see them ever again.
I got to the Guv/KH at around 1:30ish and the f^cking security dimwhit tells me that the guestlist/line-by pass/and reduced tix price won't be honoured (thank god I still purchased thru sticket schiesters as a backup). Then he tells us to go stand in this long ^ss line while he lets a bunch of mofo asians (who prolly slipped him a few $$) walk right in WTF :whip:
We get in thru KH and all looks good, ppl have a good time to the jungle beatz and then we finaly get into the Guv and it's so rammed that you couldn't even walk or dance. Like how the hell can u enjoy yourself if you can't even lift your arm without slapping someone in the face. And the BO...Wow...makes u wanna barf. Sheesh :sadgreen:
Newayz I walk up to the smoking lounge which was the only place where u could actually sorta dance but then I listen to the tunes and WTF...I'm not even feeling it. Borring!
And I felt like crap for leaving DT to come to this. What a bust. I tried to ignore the feeling and get into the music but there was nothing...nothing at all. I was devoid of enjoying it. Even the Dock without DT was better than this. So I will never go to the Guv again unless they bring in someone big and worth the money but Deep Dish was not it for me.
But for those that do enjoy Fanciulli and Deep Dish...well then good for you guys. I guess I must have developed an acquired taste and I don't even know how I did that....cuz if it's dance...then I'm there no matter what.
Till the next big event worth it....cya

Not likely on the 10th... I don't find Digweed to be dirty enough for my taste, plus I'm in Montreal that weekend ;) |
