REVIEW: Danny T at the Docks! (pg. 11)

What can I say about DT that already hasn’t been said? He is one insane dj. Got there just before 11 p.m with my party girl Preppie chick, man can you dance girl (wish all the crew was there). Next time Lars will stay till there to the end. (MissK and Jem_hadar you better come next time or ill hunt you both down). I can’t believe DT spun from just after 1 a.m till 5 p.m. What other dj could do that. That was definitely one of the top parties of this year. I can’t wait till he comes back to town. The whole night was amazing with everyone feeding off each others energy.
The crowd was insane, and what a diverse crowd the Docks had that night. It just goes to show that music crosses all boundaries and borders. The music was banging all night and got even better when he decided to stop waiting and “drop the bombs”:tongue2. Other key moments where when he asked the crowed what they wanted to hear, or when he came out around 1 p.m and danced out in the crowd pumping up the still standing:haha:.
I don’t think I have ever partied so hard in my life (except new years at Aria lol) man do you TA’s sure know how to fackin party DAMN:happy2:.I was definitely good to party with you all again Playa24_7(Crazy energy), dance2dabeat, Kevin, Pete, Graham. Frank(great energy), Richelle (man can you dance), and Fayraree man you have so much energy I can’t wait to rip it up with you again. Stereoprincess, The Highrollar, Kabelicious, RJ, Richard awesome time, sorry if I forgot to mention someone. Ray and Marg awesome time partying with you and sweet chill times afterwards.
Amazing night overall. The only problem I had with the whole night was that there was no podium for me to release my inner podium whorness too :crazy:, althought I did get on the speaker for a bit:tongue2. Can't wait to party again :crazy: |

most of what danny plays is usually a 1 off remix he has done in his studio , it is rare for danny to play anything "off the shelf"
plus by the time he has run it through the vestax isolator , lexicon jamman and cycloops he has practically remixed it live anyway |

finally........the man submits his review!!!!!
Met up with Dan and Kelly outside System about 10:26 or so and headed down to the club......when we got there it was pretty empty but there were a few of us there already.....surprised to see MATT CASSELMAN (MATT C) was opening.....Matt used to be part owner of Industry and a household name during the nineties in the TO house/club scene along with DJ's Peter and Tyrone, Mario J, Kenny Glasgow....these guys helped shape and mold Toronto into the vibrant scene that it is today....when Industry opened in 1996 - the subsequent four years would put Toronto on the world clubbing map......the house scene during this time was better than NEW YORK's - DJ Sneak moved up here and a lot of international talent started playing at 909 King Street West on a weekly basis - not just at RAVES events - Industry became a full on clubbing experience with many DJ/artist first's coming through their doors.......Matt C a legend in his own right......seems fitting for him to be playing before Danny T - those that were at the Industry closing party (which DANNY T played a marathon set yet to be rivalled) can attest to the great sense of loss that was felt when Industry closed it's doors......so with Matt warming up for Danny T it brought back memories that I had not felt/revisted for quite some time....:D
Ttacks that Matt played were.....Spoons - Nova Heart (remix), Jase from Outta Space - Do What you Want - Infusion mix......an old Adonis track.....Say Hello - Deep Dish and Drop the Beat - Skylark.......with these last 2 - my thoughts were (and I pretty much said as much to everyone) that if anyone asks me - I heard Deep Dish and Nic Fanciulli and got to hear all of Danny T!!!! All in the same venue - no need to be at the GUV......LOL!!!! I got my fix......
Well I was a busy boy that night.....trying to manage 3 groups of friends - I was a social butterfly......saw people that I have not seen out in ages and some that I never thought I would see out in a million years......this added to the overall pleasure experience that was this night.... so much fun I had......I am at a loss of REAL words to give my thoughts/feelings justice.....
but I will try........
Spent some time with B4K-OZ before she went on to the Dish with her girlfriend (too bad ya guys couldn't stay longer...:( )
Amb_ and I tried to get everyone/find everyone at 1:30 but the pre-meet kinda fell through.....LOL!!!!
Needless to say - we had pretty much all found each other anyways and everyone was off to a good start to a good time ;)
I had a lot of fun at this party!!! DAnny T took us on a journey of beats both hard and soft - new and old - house to techno - to trance and disco - electro to pop.......with 15+ hours of music the tracklisting no longer becomes important as you are now experiencing the time of your lives without a near end in sight.......
So many fun moments........
Danny dropping the bombs........so funny because same as with StereoPrincess.....my mind was destroyed bewtween 4:30-6:30 - I too was lost in the (Danny T) translation during this time - did not leave the dancefloor - danced so hard my brains shook and I can't remember a damn thing.....damn GOOD TIMES - right music + the right state = blissed out!!!!! My friend Don is a hypno-therapist I am tempted to go under in order to find out where my mind was at for those 2 hours - I think I was on another plane of existence!!! LOL!! :eek:
next thing I knew it was light out........???????/ CRAZINESS!!!!!!
Dan/Jay/Fahad - instantaneously breaking out!! - priceless!!! This is still clearly visible in my minds eye.......facking hilarious.....LOL!!! These 3 were on fire!!!
Magikb and I had a good conversation out on the Patio for a while - thanks Jenn - I enjoyed it very much and it will def happen again soon....
Good Times on the Patio also with Preppie Chick/Marg/Gamma/RJ/Highroller/Cuzo & Richelle/MarkT/Digi/MusikSnob/kabeliscious and friends/I am defintiely forgetting some people.....my review 5 days later...fack....memory loss......
a lot of bonding happened during that time spent and I am so glad that we had the time to do so......:D
we left around 1:30 or so.......funny because we were all trying to fit into Jay's little car......Marg on my lap.......If 20 clowns can pull off this stunt - we sure could!!! LOL!!!!! Even passed a copper - without incident YES!!! WE ROCK!!!!
As much fun as I had at Danny T - the good times were as equalled at Ray and Margs place........such an awesome comedown/chill out/after party as I could have ever imagined.......good times for sure.....wickid beats live to air VIA 2hp.ca......great conversation....and even a couple of missions........Highroller and I were on a mission to get "high" and finally at 9:00 we scored!!!! thanks Mr. MT/AVB!!!!!!! Good times Graham eh? - and no I was not going to drink that mystery bottle of liquid!! HAHAA !! LOL!!!

Ray/Marg - your hospitality was much appreciated and I am glad that I was able to spend time with the both of ya and share some moments in my life that will go down as some of the best spent with people I have the utmost respect for and appreciate having in my life........
everyone that was involved in my own experience of Danny T and the afterparty following.....you guys are great! So many people tried to pull me in different directions before the night began and I am glad I chose to spend my time with you all!! ZERO DRAMA - ZERO SKETCH!!!! and with the 20 of us or so that were all together that is amazing!!!! You all are good quality people - otherwise this would have been impossible to achieve!!!
Despite my memory lacking in some areas of the night - tracklisting wise and such - the fun I was having with you all - took precedent that night and only served to enhance one of the best MAY 24 weekends I have yet to have.......
Only knowing some of you in a few weeks time - has given me a refeshed look on things and why I am here in TO and why I love it here so much.......I just wish that I had found you guys sooner!!!
You have accepted me for what I am - and have made me feel even more secure in me.......sounds corny but that is how I feel......your friends can never hear too often your appreciation and love.....and I seriously love you guys.......with the summer fast approaching and many more parties to take part in.....I look forward to our experiences together and the good times/friendships that shall flourish because of them.
Kelly - I was really worried about you and wether or not you were having fun.....ask anyone.....so I am so glad that you had a good time.....I thought things would have been a little different.....but you know I love ya and we will have our time soon....I hope!!!
Not as thorough of a review as I had hoped.....but people have summed things up quite nicely already!!
For me this Danny T experience (my 7th) was most relevant because of the people that shared it with me......this for me was the highlight of my night/day and will be the most important aspect in my memories of the night!!!
Thank you everyone - I had a WICKID !!! time........
