Holy F**K Pride came early this year.
Awesome night except from the fact about 20 guys thought I was their boytoy everytime I went to the bathroom.

This is my first post, and a proud post at that! I am one of the A/V techs at The Docks, and I can say with full accuracy that his set finished at approximately 5P.
...
My review? Amazing, I actually didn't mind that it went on so long. It was a shame that it thinned out so early (2PMish) and that there were only about 7 people left at the very end. None the less, he kept playing damn well right up until the end, despite the dying "crowd".
...
My favourite part of the night? Hanging out with Danny and his manager, Kevin, afterwards. Those two are a funny pair and made our little "load out" a sure funny one. I can't wait till the next time he graces us at The Docks with his pressence... hopefully I'll get to work the whole shift that time, not just the part where people are starting to leave.
P.S. Tiesto is comming in June baby!! |
There you have it Fuad...in my count there were only 5 of us DANCING (that's all that matters--a couple of ppl sitting at the side) left when he stopped and the lights turned on and he said: "Okay, you guys, just get up here." And we were looking at each other thinking WTF?!?! And then he gave us a tour of his DJ booth and showed us pictures of his loft in Long Island City. He has his own sick-ass looking DJ booth (looks like an Imperial ship from frickin Star Wars) and just talked to us about his experiences and asked us about ours. I told him about tranceaddict (of course) and about how much our group loves him...anyway more from me later gotta focus on work now (haha ya right).
I believe he finished at around 4:45/4:50...because we were up in his booth by 5. His last track lasted a LONG time (maybe he didn't start it at 4:30 as I said earlier) but it was a SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW song (trying to give the 5 of us a hint obviously).
btw I heard Danny is playing again TONIGHT at this club that starts with a "C" and the intersection is King and a street that starts with a "P"!!!! LOL!!!! There's your puzzle for the day with the reward being Danny T!!!!! Sorry, I couldn't make out much more from the weird looking dude with the skirt...he told me to go home and get some rest then come back for more!!!! The characters you meet at the very end...SO worth it!! :D |

i recognized tracks but i don't know the names. they werent all unknown.
he played a lot of his own stuff like esperanca.
he played stoppage time and the place went nuts, which ray tells me is the last track of sasha's new years set on KISS 100 this past year. and right after that came the announcement that he wasn't going to wait for the other partiers to show up and he was going to "drop bombs".
he played that "scandal in new york" track that Matt used to play all the time.
he even played this "new" track that he has been working on with italian robot vocals. I beleive he said it was called "B-Side".
and the end he played some classic house. |

LOL!!!!!!!! Secret?
1) Sleep till 9 pm the day before (good call, RJ)
2) 2 Snickers bars
3) countless amounts of lollipops
4) barrels of water
5) dropping your first half at 8:30 am
6) dropping the second half at 10:30 am
7) Pizza and Coke (haha not THAT kind Moral Hazard) at 1:30-ish
That is all!!!
EDIT:
LOL!!! One question I asked all the people in DT's booth at the end (again, I'm a total n00blar) was "So, how many people are sober right now?" And they just laughed...so I didn't feel so bad. But I'm sure RJ would've been able to do it...he's got a sick strategy.
And kabelicious...looking forward to the next time!!!! I have to finish my review on Word before I paste it here!!! LOL! I wish Jay or Dan could've stayed...they would've gotten the proppa respect from DT...
ANOTHER EDIT:
Almost forgot the slize of pizza from the list above...I'm pretty sure forcing that in gave me the extra boost. It was funny how at a certain point they started serving alcohol again!!!! LOL!!!! Never been at a party where they serve alcohol, STOP serving it for a few hours, then start serving it again to the REALLY ed up people!!! LOL!!!!! THAT CRACKED ME UP BIG TIME!!!! (too bad I was laughing to myseld!!! LOL!!!) |

And here's my review for the evening now that I have a second of supervisor-free work time.
We got to the Docks around 4am - got a nice parking spot on the street right in front. (I am the free parking master, bow before me) We got inside and just went "WHOA!". The place was amazing - huge crowd and just this giant warehouse, clean space devoted to dancing. EVeryone was moving that I saw. We wandered into the crowd a bit and found the TOTAs. It was great to find my dancing partner, ms. preppychick, as well as the rest of the TOTA machines - RJ, Ray, Marge, Dan, Jason, Kevin, Fayraree, dancingqueen, dance2dabeat, Chris, Richelle, and more. :) Danny T just kept us going - his proclamation at 5am that he was done waiting for the other clubbers to venture over was great - "They're missing out because it's time to drop the BOMBS!". And he did - for 3-4 hours!
I didn't even realize it was light outside until a smoke break. Very glad I managed to bring sunglasses with me for this event. The patio was sweet - nice view of TO and plenty of places to sit and chill.
And Danny T just kept it up all night long - I've never been to a show where the natural high from the music, the venue, the crowd, the DJ is that damn good. Next time, I will go only to Danny T - no skipping out on any part of his set. Finally, a Cuzo wandered in and it was good to see he made it out of the Guv alive and well. Silly wabbit...lol. As for tracks - my friend regonized "Diamond Girl" - one of his faves and his new track "B-Side" was excellent as well.
One of the funnier parts of the evening was playing with lights up front around 7-8am and some dude says to me. "Put those away, bitch, it's not trance!". I just kept playing and he walked away swearing. Well eff you too dude! I'm not giving you/bugging you with a lightshow I'm just dancing over here. If you don't want to look, then don't watch. Grrrrrrrr.....such rudeness!
And on another note? The guys at the Docks rule. My friend, Michelle, had bought both her presale tickets to the Guv and Danny T online but she didn't print out the little barcode ticket - just her confirmation email. At the Guv, they said they couldn't let her in with that - even though she also had her ID and the credit card used to purchase it. So she paid $45 to get into the Guv. When she went to the Docks, the manager said he'd refund her missing money from the Guv (and they're not even attached to them for any reason) and he also was able to look up her confirmation number and verifty her ticket that way. That seriously made her night that much better - so thanks to whoever you are.
We left around noon with Ray and RJ to chill before leaving for the States again around 3pm. Made it home, slept all night, and am resting for the D this weekend. |
