Okay let's get retarded in here:
Mom's upset at all this new partying I'm doing (cuz I never really went out b4 walkindude dragged my ass out to LoL last year and now I'm addicted to the vibe). So I had some 'splainin to do (LOL especially after I got home at 5:45 pm the next day!!!!). I guess it's normal for her to be worried when I woke up at 9 pm and saw her for the first time in 2 days... Anyway they say all things in moderation...but Moral Hazard rightly says in his sig "moderation is for pussies" and I'm no ! ...although you are what you eat! LOL!!!
The conclusion is I will only be able to go out once a month...so I'll have to make it a good one...:(
So although I left home late I got down to Union on time (DVP is actually feeling a bit smoother after they did the work; I guess I owe someone $100? :p) listening to Dave Seaman all the way with a bit of DJ Endgame's set from the Vault last time I was there (still crazy about that "The World Is Mine" track--more on this track later). Picked up Nada. My God I don't have enough time or words to describe how cool you are!
We get to Haris' place to meet up with his girl, Marty, and BD (M and BD not TAs). Drank some Red Bull, listened to some sick beats and we decided it's time to get it on. It was a bit of a detour going to McDick's but it was all good because I threw on some Tiesto for Nada and we were just fackin moving ourselves in our seats while we waited! If the windows were tinted I'm sure ppl would've thought there's a lil' sumpin-sumpin going on in that car! ;) The BASS was shaking!!
We take off and walkindude wanted to race his piss-ant Civic Si against my Prelude...nuff said on that matter :whip: *yawn* got sleepy waiting for you guys at the entrance ;) LOL
We get to the Docks and I waited outside with BD (to score a ticket) while the rest of the crew went in. I waxed off the leftover McDick's (another key energy source) and when I got in I went to the only place I thought anyone would look to find me: FRONT AND CENTER!!!
btw everyone is so true with their comments re: Docks security and management. We didn't need to use any line-bypass resources because everything was smooth at about 12:30...not a big lineup and really fast staff. Even got to the pat down lady who cracked a joke about the drink I was holding: "What, none for me?" instead of the expected, "Throw that away, NOW!"
I waited at F and C for a while until I realized my crew has NO CLUE so after a few text messages we met up at the entrance and the night *officially* began!
I was getting into that crazy music that Matt C was playing...awesome stuff. Then after getting together we just hung out for a bit before Nada tells me Tiesto4Life was paging her about the 1:30 meetup.
YAAAAAAAAAAA RIGHT it was a meetup. Last time I'm making any suggestions about that sheeyit. We walk over about 1:45 and we see Tiesto4Life and his girl exactly where we discussed. We see Shudder, Cono_Sur, and a non-TA walking by and then we hung out together for a bit but no sign of anyone else!!! Finally when we decided to go back in as DT had started, I ran into Dan (Playa 24_7), amb, RJ, Gamma, Diginut, and surely others (can't remember).
So we go in and I pretty much lose myself. Highlights:
watching Nada bust a move like I've never seen...such aggressive, killer moves filled with energy and excitement; the PERFECT party-partner to have because she always inspires to keep dancing (me AND any stranger on the dance floor! LOL)
When I saw Marg, Preppie_chick, Graham, and dance2dabeat I was sooooooooo happy!!!! Always wicked to see other TOTAs...I totally understand what you meant, Sean, when you felt that Kelly may not have been enjoying to the max...I looked over a few times and saw the traffic so I pulled her over to the open and she immediately re-energized!!! I love making room for that girl; no one uses it better!!! :D
Later on the massive highlight was to see JENN (magikb)!!!! Kelly had gone looking for her because I really wanted to see Jenn, but she wen't MIA until Jenn justs walks right up and it was *breasthugsallovertheplace* LOL @ Jem...D00D we missed you...:(
So cool to watch shiftengears go...that guy DOES have some sick moves...he was the last TOTA other than me that night, minding his own business staying in the back of the floor, continuously kicking it...right up until there were like 10 people left...more on the finale later...
infinity_high...d00d you've got the moves too!!!! You were so much fun on the dance floor!!!
Danny boy, you made me laugh when you came to me and asked for Tylenol!!! I was like, "sure" and hooked u up with an Advil Liqui-Gel blue pill. Then you were like, "Man, I've been looking ALL over the place!!!!" So glad you were feeling better so that we could have this next moment:
DEFINITELY my ESPN highlight of the night too:
I look over and I see Jay (KKEFKA) kicking everyone's ass with his hyper moves...and I look a few feet ahead of him and I see Dan doing the same thing...that dance move of just punching your fists down while strutting to the beat in a VIOLENT way I had never tried before but BOTH of them were doing it and I wanted to try it...I felt like I had it because some people around me were impressed and cheering (like Nada--love ya girl) so I thought, why not line the three of us up and get the timing right so we are all pumping to the beat simultaneously?!?!?! Dan had some more space around him (except that Kelly was standing next to him--sorry Kell, I know you moved away; so sweet of you!) so I tap Jay (took a while to get his attention as he was in another world) and bring him over to Dan...then I stood next to Jay and the night was pretty much over...I had no clue what was going on around me because I was just trying to zen-master the pain I had in my body!!!! I didn't last too long and had to go to my onsite physiotherapist:
Haris' quick back beatings...without his attention to my lower back I'd be facked...and Marty pulled some chiropractic on my back and I trust him so he totally knocked me back into shape. Thank you so much Graham for your attempts at punching my back, too!!! I think I even asked infinity high to do it when I couldn't find Haris or Marty...you TAs ROCK!!!! :D:D:D:D

The other girls in your crew were so cool too...I can't remember her name but she asked me for a lollipop...that's another thing I always bring: candy...I don't know if it's uncool or whatever, but THAT stuff is warranted IMO if you want to last till the wee hours of the afternoon. SO many people asked me for a lollipop and I was just dishing that out...I even asked Danny T at the end of it all if he wanted one (when he was beginning to tell us he was hungry and hadn't eaten but he refused :()
Later in the night I lent my glowsticks to this guy who I always see at the massive events, a brown guy that always gets up on the podium and kicks ass with the sticks. He directs a couple to me that wanted to buy the sticks...I wanted to keep them till the end so I ended up selling one for $30!!!!!! people are desperate for those!!! Another guy came later and gave me $25 for one...pretty good money was made on these little items that cost me only $4!!!!
The patio hangouts were SOOOOOOOOOOO awesome. Bonding with TAs rules, right on Sean...I met Jennypie for the first time...girl you are SOOOO effin funny...never met you before but right off the bat we were both total jokes making fun of eachother and stuff...THANKS for saving my SEAT!!! LOL! ;)
Finally also had a good heart-to-heart with Signor ManCUZO...what a FAWKIN cool dude. Thanks for your friendliness and for making the effort to come out to DT...partying with you is SOOOOOOOO cool...your girl Richelle can DANCE!!!! :D:D:D:D
So many peeps...my gawd...Sean you're cool as always; you were MIA for a while but when you get back it's all about the high five, the smiling and continuing to groove...BRING IT UP BRING IT UP!!!! LOL! ;)
What else can I remember before I get to my favorite part of the night?!?! All my buddies leaving, one by one...I had so much energy for some reason...99% sober...(Nada your friends rawked ;) hehehehe that was some goooood sheeeeeeeet LOL)
Danny T Danny T Danny T...the FIRST time out of the 6 major parties I've been to that the DJ came down and danced on the floor...he came down at 1:30ish and then 2.5 hours later at around 4ish. So much happened in those last few hours...
Firstly, I didn't stay that long for it but does anyone remember him coming down last October? I liked the setup at this event SO MUCH MORE!!!! They should put Tiesto there, too!!! Getting rid of the platform in the middle and all those podiums was SUCH a good idea. And the music sounded FLIPPIN amazing...bass was so rich that even at 4 am I was feeling it and actually took out my earplugs to enjoy the softer, slower beats he was playing.
Margs, you remember when he was taking requests! I remember Lars coming up to me to borrow my pen and write down this huge letter about TAs and Chus and Ceballos LOL!!! Then Marg came along and just wrote "Chus and Ceballos" in MASSIVE font!!!
As we kept going, more and more people started to leave...when I was on the patio I met one of Jem's friends, Rebecca, a really cool girl who was there with Justin...we chilled outside and then I saw them VERY LATE inside...preppie_chick knew her too.
Those two kept me company after even shiftengears left...was nice to have a familiar face around when it was so late and empty...I tried to keep other people going by using my towel as a fan and breeze them up...I even went up to the front and fanned DT down a bit (I think Margs was still there at the time?) and he took out one of his white t-shirts and started fanning me back!!!! LOL!!! At that point I knew I wasn't leaving until he stopped the music).
He had many more intervals where he'd turn the music down and speak...he was telling us how he was really hungry and that he'd love a turkey 'n' swiss sandwich with a little mayo and a little mustard (not too much)...and a couple of the people actually drove out to get it for him!!!! He continued playing 1-2 hours after that just because of the re-energization I guess...
It was somewhere here that I remember reaching for my glowsticks and getting scolded by the dude from Boa.
...I remember shouting up at him when he asked for requests the "The World Is Mine" remix and he didn't know what that was!!!! I also tried to recommend "Dirty, Filthy" but to no avail...he started to really slow things down and when it came to the last song, I walked up and asked "When is the tempo gonna pick up?" and of course I had to get owned when he gave me a "SHHHHHHHH" sign and pointed out, "1" more song...so I basically STFU...
And when he stopped the music and the lights went on, he said, "Why don't you guys come on up here"...and it was the perfect ending to an amazing night. From now on I go to EVERY DT event and I stay till the end EVERY TIME. He is THE MAN. What other top-20 DJ in the world will continue to play for HALF AN HOUR for only 5-7 people?!?!?!? WHO I ING ASK?!?!?!?!!? |
