when they have a live set, they play their stuff off their labtop, and add extra synths & midis on top of it. (im prety sure obviousely i dont know exactly what they do, but ive seen them twice, and think i understand it alright...)

They don't mix with vinyl/cds, i dont even think they have a mixer up there...

his last performance in chicago has gone down as one of the most embarassing performances ever. i wasnt there but ill see if i can find the review thread of it. i guess he was completely drunk in the booth, talked to a bunch of people in the booth, and slacked off big time when it came to mixing.

OK,

chances are, they just play and mix Mp3s, if u didn't see Cds/Vinyl...

OK, and if they PREMIX... they don't need Traktor...

infact if they're USING a SOFTWARE DJ program, it's STILL mixing....

I have to say,

Tiesto get's bashed a fair bit, for what a lot of peopl consider to be lack of skills in live mixing. I admit, even I've heard my share of trainwrecks. But then again, I've heard trainwrecks from other artists too, like NuNrg etc. as well....

I just wanted to remind everyone, that Magik V, Magik 6, and Magik 7, were all recorded in front of a live audience.

In essence, Tiesto mixed well enough, to put his work straight onto CD. THat's not easy... When your gonna record a set, to slap onto a CD, u really have to prepared, and aware that you can't up...

I just thought I'd mention that. Love to know your opinions, because I didn't find much bad mixing in any of thos CDs.

Just ing drop it already.

I've heard Paul van Dyk train wrek more than Tiesto, even with the vinyl scratch, but he doesn't seem to get as much . Granted Paul takes a few more risks when mixing, but still you think all the n00bs would complain just as much.

The fact is Tiesto has recorded/broadcasted more sets than probably every other dj out there. More chances to up mean more ups, and so people hear it and DEFINATELY wanna complain about it.

That and he's an easy target, no.1 target to be specific. ;)

Tiesto has been deejaying for 2 decades and shouldn't need to prove himself anymore...

That said, I did notice a few subtle flaws in the mixing for ISOS4. Subtle as they were, and I am pretty picky about that since I've been recording sets of my own, but I'd expect better from a studio release cd. ISOS4 non the less.

P.S. I've seen NuNRG Live at FreakNight in Seatle and they used vinyls/cdjs and didn't mess up once. Track selection was a bit subpar IMO, but mixing was good. ;)
