people are ignorant and love pointing fingers, it makes them feel that much better about themselves and whatever situation they're going through.
not all of course., i don't want to pin point anyone here but I think it shows for itself.
anyway, you do a great deal of explaining things to some of these people but I think it's all going to waste, i'd say don't bother but I wouldn't like all the discrimination to keep on... |

I don't think it's all going to waste at all. Personally, I don't post anything to change anyone's mind about something...that's up to them; I only want the truth to be spoken, that's all. I feel it's important to speak up if you know something that's relevant to the issue that can help inform people.
Even if people don't come up and post a response in agreement or even if the ones who you are refuting continue to post their comments instead of responding to your points, it's STILL important to say something because it may clarify things for people who sincerely want to learn and cause them to go and investigate further for themselves (if they really care). |

Well, actually ... After Clinton left the office, Bush made enemies in weeks with countries that Clinton worked on so hard to make friends with during his administration (i.e. North Korea, Iran, China, Russia, etc.). He pissed the world off. If you unsure why I put China there, dont forget the American spy plane that was caught spying off Chinese coast ... North Korea and US were quite friendly at the time, and KNDR wasnt actively pursuing their nuclear program, only after Bush deteriorated the relations. Other countries can be added to the list - you are smart enough, you should know the examples for the rest ... |

The invasions you metnioned dont really have a correlation to the issue at hand.. its like me mentioning Persians conquering parts of greece. We al know there is no correlation there.
But when you look at the current situaiton.. you have the US occupying two muslim nations (iraq and afghanistan) and israel occupying the palestinians ( which is viewed as an american proxy state by muslims nevertheless), which isnt making that region all too happy. Along with that.. Britain was behind the US's back all the time.

How was occupying Afghanistan not justifed? The government there, if you can call it a government, was dangerous not only to the western world, but the people who they claimed to represent. Even fence-sitting Canada (not always a bad thing) sent 8,000 troops there to fight. Iraq is a different issue that, frankly, has been beaten to death.
Britain is an ally of the United States and has been for some 60 odd years. Militarily and economically, they are the buffer state between the USA and Europe. Despite nearly 80 percent of Britons opposing the Iraq War, they still are subjected to this bull. It sounds to me like you are trying to find some justification. I dont' care what governments do...striking at innocent people is cowardly and deserving of the most severe retribution. I suggest MI5 go to town on all suspected Muslims in the UK with terrorist connections and start the deportations en masse. Anybody shady...it's time to go. I forget his name...but the Islamic leader in Britain. I can't understand why he is still allowed to even live in the UK with the things that he says.
I don't care if this is the only way for terrorists to fight for what they believe in either. It still isn't right and trying to use biblical justification is simply twisted. Of course, Muslim civilisation hasn't been able to compete militarily with Europe/North America for centuries. They had their time of Empires and conquering.
Anyway...this is just an observation but isn't it odd that Middle Eastern society contributed so much to world history and culture in the beginning (ie 2500 years ago) but since largely converting to Islam 1200 years ago, haven't really given anyone...anything? |
