whats wrong with requesting a good classic track, like something vertigo would do? now if you were requestion stevie B, id understand  |
well the way i see it is that when you go to hear a performance, you are going because you trust the performer to do what he does best. You'd never go up to any artist and start telling him to paint in a different colour, you wouldnt go up to rock band midset and tell them to play a song. You wouldnt tell a chef in a fancy restaurant to change his cooking habits for you. (he'd probably have you kicked out)
No different for a dj who is performing as opposed to a sportsbar dj who is nothing but a human jukebox.
You know what i mean? |

| 4. Put a shirt on. I don't care how buff you are, but you're all sweaty and I don't need your slime all over me in a crowded club. |

No Jay, I'm serious, I sometimes want to hold up a piece of paper with the song name on it if I'd like to hear a classic, but only if the tune was produced by the DJ that's spinning... Is that out of line? |
I'm with Cale on this one, if its a track that the dj produced or made famous it would seem to me it's actually complimenting them. |

here's a good way to do it then...
dont just write the song name... incorperate it into some clever saying. Then maybe you'll get the song you want without treating the guy like a wedding DJ. |

That's a good idea.
At tiesto Cale had signs made in dutch asking tiesto to play a track.
I thought it was a good idea! |

That should be #1 imo
Others to consider:
- If you aren't there for the music, get the out
- The dancefloor is NOT a smoking lounge/bar. Every club has a bar. Go and sip your precious martini/smoke your cig or whatever there. |

RULE 1 - DO NOT hold up signs with requests on them and stick them in the DJ's face as he's playing a set. You might as well be writing "YOU SUCK" on that paper instead.
|
I saw someone do this to john digweed at the Kool Haus once. The WTF look on his face was priceless. |
