RULE 1 - DO NOT hold up signs with requests on them and stick them in the DJ's face as he's playing a set. You might as well be writing "YOU SUCK" on that paper instead.
RULE 2 - If a DJ is facing the turntables, that means he's busy mixing, adjusting the volume, etc. If you really must bother him to ask if he can send a shout out for your boy's birthday, wait until he at least goes to grab another record.
Seriously, take this piece of advice from a guy who spends a lot of time in DJ booths. |

1 is worse than you think....
ive seen the dj's facial expressions when signs like that come out. It's never good. |

| No Jay, I'm serious, I sometimes want to hold up a piece of paper with the song name on it if I'd like to hear a classic, but only if the tune was produced by the DJ that's spinning... Is that out of line? |

well most likely in that case the dj will probably play it.
seriously guys, it's not even a question of being a right or wrong thing, the fact remains that ive seen for myself that the reaction from whoever is behind the decks is never a good one. |
