This was a good idea for a Thread... so many wicked tracks.

Another fav, System F - Out from the Blue. 2002 maybe?

Hearing Ferry drop the remix at Guv 9 blew my mind!

As for groups/artists.. not really trance, but they started the electronic misic phenomenon - gotta luv'em

Depeche mode / new order
Underworld
Prodigy
Crystal Method
Chemical Bro's

keep'em spinning! :tongue2

Originally hooked by New Order's full (1983 album)

Halcyon+on+on - Orbital (1993 Brown Album Release) finally got me hooked!

Was always into the underground dance movement...started with breaks, black ectro beats and r&b

...but as the vocalist says in one of Ferry Corsten's sets
"When Darkness turns to light"

My light became Trance Music...
These Trance tunes deserve to be mentioned as the ones to break a lot of peeps out of the darkness

Age of Love - Age of Love (1990)
Halcyon+on+on - Orbital (1993 Brown Album Release)
El Nino (Matt Darey Remix)" by Agnelli & Nelson (1998)
"Three Drives on a vinyl - Greece 2000" (1998)
"LSG - Netherworld" (1999)
"Cascade - Transcend" (1999)
"Out of the Blue" by System F (1999) aka Ferry Corsten
"Gamemaster" by Lost Tribe (1999)

Also Notables:
Robert Miles - Children
Rank One - Airwave
System F aka Ferry Corsten - Exhale
The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia
PVD - For an Angel
Bedrock aka Digweed - Heaven Scent
The Generator - Where are you now
Vincent de moor - Fly Away
Der Dritte Draum - Hale Bopp
Suburban Train - DJ Tiesto

Ya ya ya...Tiesto is good for you newcomers...but Ferry Corsten is the true Trance DJ and he's the only one that has remained true when it comes to the sound :p THAT'S WHY FERRY IS MY GOD!!!!

To hear how Trance has Trancended over the years...pick up all the greatest Gatecrasher Cd's and give a listen. Magikb if you don't have these...gettem.

Cheers

that set and specifically the first song

Open your Eyes - Nalin and Kane

still my favourite

Other tracks from that set that should be mentioned:

Nat Monday - Nucleus
Blondie - "Nothing Is Real But The Girl (Danny Tenaglia Club Mix)

That was a sick ass set, indeed.

I wish Oakie still played like this.

Magik Journey :eyespop: and all of Tiesto's In My Memory CD.

Thanks B4k-oz - i stand corrected System F (Ferry C) - Out of the Blue 99'

Just played it now... had to dig thru a stack of DVD-R Archives.

I've been listen to trance since the mid 90's, but i didn't get into the Guv/party scene until 2002.

I've been trying to find and play the songs ppl posted... so many wicked tracks!!

Ferry C - is the trance god... Look at how trance has evolved over the years. I think he's set the trend.

Keep'em coming! :tongue2

Or no maybe it was a Trance mix CD that one of my ex's brought over from Holland in 2000. He was talking about this Tiesto guy and back then I was an R&B girl and couldn't respect EDM. I had no idea how people could listen to this so called "trance" music that I never heard in my life.
After that I saw Chris Sheppard (yeah reallyyyyyy cheesy!) at a club here (in 2002) and danced my ass off like never before and loved the whole vibe. I was slowly hooked...I suspect I will be listening to trance in a nursing home one day. ;)
