This totally friggin sucks! System was one of my favorite friggin clubs of them all, I just love the underground type feel it has. There was always room to dance, always wicked people, and every single time I went I had an awesome time. Theres no other club around that matches what system has, so what the hell are we going to do now?? I need to know! :(
Is the new management for sure changing the club to mainstream or something way different from what it was before? ANSWERS!! lol |

| this is really sad. I can't count how many times I've been to system. It's one of the few places to party that I've felt 100% comfortable. I'm too old to stomach Guv anymore. I think NYE may mark the end for me too and my semi-retirement may become permanent- save the odd beach party or whatnot. |

| Wow, I am trully and honestly stunned. System was the start of it all for me. My first time there was shortly after my 19th birthday. I had never had such a great time in a club prior to my first visit. Without question, that first time at system taught me what a club and a party should be. Nearly all of the people I have introduced to the scene I have initiated through system. It's unfortunate that in recent years I have not been able to make it out on Fridays as I miss the glory that is Breathe. I suppose one really doesn't appreciate what they have until it is gone, or in this case earmarked for death. I cannot do NYE, however, I will surely be out to System at least once more before it is gone. This marks the end of an era for me, us, and the Toronto scene. |

Reading this thread is giving me chills. Been sooo many years of being a system regular/semi-regular. So many good times. Each one of the stories brings me back to that night. Will have to access my brain for some of my best ones.

This club was what brought me into the scene.. first ever event I attended was on this hallowed ground! I hope something equally awesome is done with this space once System's doors are shut for good.

As I said on another board, some of the best nights I've had out in Toronto, introduced to some great people, etc. Systems Breathe nights certainly kicked my ass over and over again. The talent they managed to bring in for such a small place? Come on, probably the greatest. Their staff? Amazing. Favourite nights out over the years since 2002 would have to be:

From the looks of it, this club had a regular base of fans and club-goers, and I don't think it should have had any problems financially (it's existed for this long, what's different now?) |

What a sad thing to wake up to.
Been going to systems for about 5 years now, was transformed from being a regular Hip Hop thurs girl to a fri or sat night only girl, haha! ...Everytime I've been to systems its been a great time, good memories.
Thank you to Systems for a great place to party and chill with good friends.
