Dubai looks GORGEOUS.
I loved it when I was in Tunisia (of course, on a totally different continent, but still Arab-speaking), but the buildings, the people... it was great.
I can't really think that Dubai would be any different, and it looks lovely to visit or to live there.
Dubai's probably going to be a big Hot Spot to travel soon, once all the construction is down.
And how could I pass up a building with the insides designed by Armani? Hello! |

Royal suite at Le Saint James is 8k.
A bed in same room, bed, like Jonh Lennon and Yoko Ono at the Queen Elizabeth was going for 22k a couple of years ago, don't know if they still have it. |

to tell the truth, I was younger than I am now, and math -- any form of numbers -- often get skewed when in my head. |

That doesn't sound too bad. What can you get for 500k though? How much would a new 2br condo cost around "new downtown" Dubai? How about if it's right by the water (i THINK it could be both downtown and on the shore, right?)? |
I belive for around 600k you can get a 2bd room+ (big)den apt at this complex . my relatives live there (from company though :p)

You want expensive and f*cked up prices. Try buying in California! |
Yes. My friend and his fiancé just bought a house south of San Fran, $590,000 USD for just over 800sq-ft. A "starter home." |

Yes there are, 7-Star hotels are International Ratings, not the 5-Star North American and Europe union rates that hotels go under.
There is a 7-Star hotel in Dubai, one in the Rainforest, and another in Japan or around that area. There are only three of them in world, and, from the Travel Channel's special I saw YEARS ago on Dubai's hotel, the whats-it-called, honeymoon suite, is something like $1500/night. |
Do you know the names of the other hotels? Rainforest? |
