so i got my first taste of Canadian hospitals. and hopefully the last.

i got a massive cut on my finger and was bleeding like a moofoo so a friend drove to north york general hospital. i sat in the stupid ER room or whateva thay call it here for 4 and half hours and still no one looked after me and i kept bleeding. my whole shirt from bottom was covered in blood. i told the nurses i am feeling dizzy and i need help right away but nope. bitches just kept walking around making jokes about x-mas and what not. and its not like it was super busy. maybe 3 other ppl before me and 2 ppl on the ambulance carts.

the lady who was ahead of me kindly said to the nurse that she can wait but they shud check out me.... u guys wouldnt beleive what the nurse said ... " he will be ok he is not dying "

at that point i got up ... gave everyone in that room a peice of my mind ... got a applaude from other ppl waiting and walked out. went to shoppers and begged the guy behind the pharmacy to help me and he finally put some bandages and what not. what a miserable and hopless situation. i need about 6 stiches, the cut has stopped bleeding cos the pharmacy d00d put some vitamin E on it. i mean if u r bleeding and u tell them ass clowns that u feel dizzy ummm isnt that kind of a indication that i need immediate help. blah.

It's called triage.

If you were an infant in respiratory distress, you'd be in like Flynn.

Ty dude, thats ing sucks.

they had some hosptil emerg workers/nurses on teh Peak today (local radio).

The average wait time in emerg they said at our C'wood hospital during the winter time (taking skiiers into account) would on average about 4 hours.

If you come at a peak time, like around 5pm, expect between 4-6 hours on average for a wait.

honestly - whenever im having serious immediate medical emergencies, i head to teh local afterhours clinic if at all possible (ie. that it either happens during their hours of operation or that i can wait till they open, mon-fri 630-900pm, and sat-sun 9am-12noon)

if not, i guess u have no option but the hospital.

sorry to hear about that mess. im glad the pharmacy guy helped u out though dude.

:(

be a man and hold it, honestly that wasnt the place to go for a cut , next time use walk in clinic if you dont intend to wait there, but i will be honest, everytime i go there, their doctors are A+ , as compared to stupid walk ins.

Well worth the wait, they wouldnt take you in until it was a real emergency.

But I thought Canada had The best health care system in the world!!!???

Anybody who really thinks that government-controlled health care is better than a private or two-tiered system has obviously never been to a Canadian hospital.

Yeha i know what thats like...
two summers ago i had some heat stroke/seizure while bike riding and i ended up getting to the ER and waited about 3 hours before i got in the room.. another hour before i got my blood and EKG testing done and then another hour or so before the doc came in... first thing he says to me:
"So how did all this happen?"
Me: "well doc, i was kinda hoping YOU could tell me that"
i ended up being fine and have been since... but i mean.. if someone just drops to the ground from a seizure, convulsing and vomitting while passed out and wakes up with no recolection of any of it with NO past episodes... you would think some immediate attention would have been in order... i had to sit in a waiting room covered in vomit for hours and the first thing the doctor asks is HOW DID THIS ALL HAPPEN....
come the eff on

lol he needs stiches. it wasnt a in paper cut. we pay for that in , he should be able to get stiches so it in stops bleeding, and gets infected, and doesnt look like for the rest of his life.

its not like hes going to die, honestly enough a walk in clinic doctor can do that as well, it isnt life threatning.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience Tyler. I'm with Jamie. Usually the after-hours clinics work better.

I've had to go to the ER a number of times (as most of you know...my infamous "eye" incident)...anyway, I've had to go a number of times at night, usually when there's not too many people...yet for some reason I still have to sit and wait there for hours. Then they transfer me to a bed and I think...yes! Someone is going to help me soon...nope...I lay there wanting to die for another hour or so and then FINALLY a dr. comes.

One time I was there. I went in at like 2...I waited until 7 in the morning for a doctor to come! You know why? No doctor's were on staff at night. So I pretty much should have just stayed home and slept in my own COMFY bed and went to the dr. in the morning...mind you I probably would have had to wait another 5 hrs anyway.

what a ing man, your place is in a local clinic, not a hospital ER.

teach ya a lesson for goin there
