exactly what i'm saying. there, in the middle east, maybe not in Saudi Arabia (cause they are pretty westernized and spoiled with the riches), but somewhere in Iran or Afghanistan, she wouldn't even have the right to show her face in the street. THAT, my friend, is a fact. ask her some time. |

Actually Saudi Arabia is very conservative, much more so then Iran.... the difference is the Saudi's are friendly (or appear to be) toward the west so we tend to scurtanize them less. |

I find everyone who believe in religion is...
I just have no faith in it anymore...my belief is that it's nothing more than a bunch of tall tales used as the easiest explanation for the unexplainable.

a rather pesimistic view. It comforts those that have suffered a loss, or suffer through their daily lives. It provides a value system to the cultures that are founded based on the religion. Most religions provide valuable social services. They function as a hub for communities to gather or remain connected. Most religions assist in redistributing wealth. There are many positive secullar functions to organized religions, you simply choose not to recognize them. |
