yes, im not a stupid newbie and i think its pretty obvious what i meant.
i tend to not use "electronica" because then i could be including industrial or other types also. |

Ummm, you mean main type of electronica, I hope. :) |
hmmm..... I have actually reason to believe that most of the music had originated from house music, and trance is one of them!:D |

So this thread has failed to show how many girls in Toronto like trance.
Me, being a girl, actually totally agree with the guys. There aren't too many girls that like trance around here at least. Also, being from Europe, maybe that makes me fit the previous stereotype of Europena girls liking trance. And my friends, also European, like trance but you guys are right, there aren't too many of us. I see these snobby girls at clubs that only go there to stand around and wait for guys and you ask them how they like the DJ and they don't even know who is spinning. Eventhough I may not be the best at knowing what tracks are playing but I do know which DJs I like and I know what music I like. House makes me sick!!! Literally!!! I hate the repeatative nature of it and any typical house sounds make me cringe. |

I agree with some points that you guys have, one being that
alot of girls at clubs often dont know who is spinning, or even
whether they are listening to trance, house or whatever,
but perhaps this is an unfair generalization or maybe its just that you are noticing this when you are at places like The Guvernment on
Friday nights when most girls go just to sport
their new bikini tops. I think maybe you are hanging out at the
wrong places if you are looking for girls who love trance.
Personally I love it, and i have since the moment i heard C sharp-
The quest for the first time..I have a lot of friends who are girls
who love it including my sister (but maybe thats because our DNA is similar) ...anywho i used to go to trance parties all the time and i never noticed a shortage of girls..
But who knows maybe they werent even there for the music, so perhaps
you guys are right
In anycase Im a girl and i absolutely love trance and always will

i forgot to mention that i'm originally from Europe too :p even though i live in Toronto..i guess that adds to the European girls liking trance stereotype...it's a mistery:conf: |

Toronto is full of hotties who are slowly becoming apparent in the trance scene. Some events are full of them...while others constitute a sausage festival. You will see more women at bigger dj-events. A prime example is Tiesto this summer. I am not convinced that this rather large cross section of women are there for the tunes...but this may transform as electronic music becomes more mainstream (which is certainly seems to be doing).
I make it out to quite a few parties here in Toronto. I have been a female trance luvA since around 1993 when I was living in Tokyo. Hong Kong in 1995 is what really got me into the scene.
Perhaps the whole electronic scene was slower to develop in Canada, but I am convinced that I wouldn't be as involved in trance music if I had grown up here in Canada like most kids.
I am confident that the girl to boy ratio in trance will only improve as time goes by.
