| This is pretty much the only tune I like the PvD has made. I think it's one of those tunes that is great live, but ok at home. |

i ve the same cobalt's oppinion, for an angel is one of the tracks we can identify it with us in the first time we listen to it...
the best pvd track to play in a club, imo ...
but nowadays i prefer listen other pvd songs and i think they better to listen at home, like:
another way
face to face (piano mix)
forbidden fruit
words
tilt vs pvd - rendezvous
avenue
...
(im not considering the pvd remixes in this thread)

For some reason, I can't say I ever liked For an Angel beyond a musical appreciation. I can't say for sure why, suffice that it never really touched me.
It kills me that for all people go crazy over For an Angel, I almost never hear about possibly his most underrated track, Seven Ways. |

| I've always liked for an angel. I remember back in 1998 listenin to the ework remix and just loovin it. I dunno why really.. I suppose now more than anything, it's the nostalgia. The first time I heard the plucks and piano with the lil vocal it hooked me. I wish there was more of this style left.. seems like supersaws and big synths have taken over. If thats your thing more power to ya.. I just wish it would go back to this simplistic melodic style though. *shrug* just my .02:sadgreen: |

| PVD - For an Angel was one of the first trance tunes i herd and got me into trance...so ill will always have repect of it that way but the quality of the tune that always shines on me...lol but thats just my opinion |

I agree, I can't stand the super saw or big synths as much anymore, I prefer stuff that sounds a lil different. If you like piano melodies, check out Kris O'Neil's "Snowflakes (Allende Remix)", which be found on Beatport. Great tune from last year, a bit chilled compared to "For An Angel" but still nice. When I usually think of "For An Angel" I think of the more popular "E-Werk Club Mix" from 98, not the Original from back in 93 or 94. So yeah I much prefer that mix to the original for sure. The Allende Remix of Snowflakes is also better than the original version in my opinion, the original is really deep and proggy, doesn't quite have the melodic touch of the "Allende Remix". |

| It's all right. remixes are better than the original tho. I would imagine hearing it live [as someone mentioned already] would be a lot better. |

Yeah to today's standards they are both a bit typical, but look back 8 to 10 years ago and people were in aww of these tunes. It's kind of like early rock hits from the 60s from the Beatles, Stones, the Who, Jimmy Hendrix etc. They had many great, unforgettable tunes, and sure since then rock has become even more sophsticated, but a lot of these guys pushed the boundaries, they created something both timely and catchy, so their songs are ingrained in a lot of modern American and European culture. I think of these songs in the same light, they are classics, even if there is stuff nowadays which is "better" or more "sophsticated". |

For the record: I never said For an Angel was a bad tune. But it's like eating a ricecake. Sure, it'll fill you up. But it's not very tasty or fun to eat. |
