STARDUB - The Source (Reboot remix)
The C-Rock remix is good too, very groovy, but I prefer the dark precussive sound atm.
Can't wait for this to come out in WAV/MP3 |

| check their digital download section? |
|

just checked for you, the answer is no.
when you search on juno, just click at the top to only show mp3/downloads.
just wait a mont or 2 and it will be there. Reboot usually releases their stuff digitally after a month or 2 of print only. |

Or rob a bank and learn to play vynil :) |

it is not that expensive if you only buy hard to find stuff. If something is out in wav/mp3 it is rare that i buy the record unless the art and package is spectacular.
Also serato makes it easier to learn:)
compare a full wav release on beatport vs a vinyl and the price is similar. The shipping is a little more of course, and you can't pick your tracks, but whatever. |

| Being able to play something 2 month before everyone has it would be awesome :disbelief |

you could always change your name to luciano.
worst comes to worse there are always ty rips to tide you over until it comes out. |

This is stupid, another track I like that I found in the VYNIL section...
Sascha Krohn - A Tree is a Tree
especially (Tim Xavier & Camera remix)
When i seem to be browsing through the mp3 section I seem to be scavenging through massive piles of junk....
All the good stuff I can't have :wtf:
P.S. aren't rips pretty much the same as pirated mp3s? |

it costs money to release a record. Anyone can release an mp3 aka quality control is way less.
juno still kills beatport in this regard. Beatport has much more garbage.
you can also try seeing if you can purchase a digital copy straight from the label.
for instance omar s actually sends you the tracks he does himself once the paypal goes through. This is for his "vinyl only" stuff as well.
and yes most rips are pirated mp3's...but if you really want to just listen why not? They are useless to mix anyway. (i am not condoning piracy) |

There is no need to play stuff 2 months before it comes out. There are so many tracks out there. Plenty of which are very good, and many of those very few people will have heard about.
Your best bet is to get into a system of browsing Juno + Beatport everyday so you can keep up! Avoid the charts sections because all the big names chart the same tunes over and over, and besides you don't want to be playing their sets you want to be playing your own.
The only way to find great gems that you can bust out is to rummage through the piles of both beatport and juno (yes they both have a lot of , juno less so but still). |

Alex I have been doing that now and it seems to be working a lot better now that I have hours to spend on searching for music. I love the fact that beatport has that +favorite LABEL/ARTIST.
So I have like 50-100 FAV artists and 20-30 Labels and growing, and since beatport has that marker for new things added within 7 days you can keep up really easy. Looking through the top 100 charts isn't a bad idea too.
The only problem for me is music that you guys enjoy right now which is the "mainstream underground" I would call is tech house, and the lighter shades of minimal techno.
Lately I have really been enjoying the darker percussive tribalish minimal tech house, with a rolling bass line, something like Suedmilch - Roberto Mario, and those few tracks that I posted before by Sascha Khron and Reboot Remix of that Stardub track.
Son-Tec - Edge is one of my top tracks right now.
That new release Springbond - Frequencies ......
I also enjoy a lot of techno out there but that's not a problem for me to find at all, plenty of good stuff out there.
But hey I guess everybody faced this at one point, and the only solution is to spend hours browsing through the new releases and maybe find that 10 % of those releases are of the kind you like and maybe 1% is actually amazing. |
