i think its the only way to make montreal scene better
most people dont like going out so late such as 2 am
turning it into a club would be the best move imo

1-illegal, the kloc closed because of this, it would need a change in legistlation
2-have seperate entrances and make the two crowds never interact and never see each other... but i guess this would need a set of permits and whatnots.
3-yes yes yes, but Biggy doesn't like big fat aria logos ;)
4-maybe, maybe not, lots of money is needed to make it right. hire a designer...
5-you can't do a thing about that, when lots of people show up at once, some will wait.
6-alcohol, the afterhours concept is dead and burried. |

yeah very true.
I hate to say it, but ARIA has lost the battle to circus and stereo, but there's no reason a switch like mekroon said wouldnt work. It would seperate it from stereo and circus, which will probably always have an advantage over aria now no matter what even if they bring bigger dj's (unless ARIA drastically cleans up). |

im still curious to see how afterhours clubs will enforce the no smoking policy.Will they have designated areas?You know they wont let people in and out.With a large chunk of smokers in this city it will be interesting to see how this affects the market.I'd like to see a members only afterhours concept similar to Rise in Boston.Membership fees would add a feeling of exclusivity as well as raise revenue for much needed improvements.
Another thing Aria should do:
When the night is going great, do not be afraid to pay your staff a few extra dollars to keep the party going.It is also about creating memories and impressions.If i can point out the Sander night at Stereo, and his spinning until almost 130.These kinds of special moments insure repeat customers.Flyer promotions arent enough.Lasting impressions is what sells. |

So do the STEREO thing... Eliminate the hiphop room and build a wall around it. Call it ARIA bar... I'm serious... open ARIA up at 12 and have it go until 5. ARIA bar closes at 2 so the first 2 hours could be a warmup DJ followed at 2 with the main event.

Not really, Stereo will always have aria by the balls. They're just so much better. |

I'd probably go more. Plus I'd draw some more people in - that is, my chicken friends who are afraid of afterhours. |

lmao been saying this for like 2 years now i THINK. Or just have Stereo and Aria merge. Will never happen but it be nice.
Stereobar could be the new Aria (electro - techno - minimal - resident djs - lesser known headliners). Stereo would stay the same. |
