I find its nicer this way when stuck in a valley, more time to rest. Then party 24/7 straight for months on end. |
FANCUILLI, ARMIN, PREACH, SANDER, LEXICON AVENUE... AND MANY MANY MORE ALL WITHIN THE LAST 2 WEEKS.
valley? Not too sure about that one... |

better than a lot of headliner nights too...imo these nights made aria.
They also helped Preach catapult his career. |

It's fun to see Tag compare Stereo to Aria.
Both clubs are really different, can't compare.
Stereo is not pack on friday night. But it's really good on saturday (Stereo is much smaller than Aria btw so it look always better with less people). Saturday at Stereo is almost 70-80% of a gay crowd and this make a huge difference.
Some saturdays at Aria are very good at the moment. We are working on our fridays and will try to get back many people soon.
I think, you should help the club and not complain. We are not against you but with you. We lost so much money with out of town dj's and you electronic music lovers, should try to give back a little bit of your passion to the club.
You are talking about Aria like there is no more guest dj's?
Danny Howells and Sharam from Deep Dish played Aria for NYE.
Mauro Picotto, Junkie XL, Felix da Housecat, DJ Dan, Adam Freeland, Markus Shulz and Loco Dice played since January and we are still in April. Did you see so many dj's at Circus or Red-Lite or such music variety at Stereo?
Please, don't complain but help us.
When I see some comments here from people trashing Aria, this is not encouraging us to give you the best. You should support the club. |

I think most of us here want to see Aria succeed. Some of my favorite nights have been in your club.(and like i said earlier not only headliner nights.)Sorry if some negativity escapes sometimes, its just very hard for me to see something struggle and lose money.Best of luck always. |

+1
Aria was the first afterhours club I ever attended back in 2003 on the Labour Day long weekend (Aug 30th I believe) when Sasha was there and I didn't even listen to EDM or know who the hell Sasha was. I was a hip hop girl then and was upstairs and decided to wander downstairs to check out what was going on and it changed my life.. LOL :p
I will always support Aria, but I do think that there are some changes that need to me made in order for the business to start rolling back in. I have been to many events at Aria and seeing Preach before he made it big was a couple of those nights as resident. I would prefer to come to Montreal and party if it were at Aria over any other club. (Stereo is second on my list) cuz I remember all the great times I have had at your club and it would be a shame to see that leave Montreal all together.
I wish you success and the best of luck with the club biggy! :) |

I know I don't post often and I don't live in montreal so my voice in this doesn't carry much weight here but her it goes.
I agree with everything you said except getting rid of the drug dealers. It seems people here have been putting down the drug culture that goes along with the dance scene. in my eight years of going out I've gone out with and without drugs and had fun both ways. The problem with drugs in the scene is not the drugs themselves its the people who can't control themselves and take more than the brain can handle. educate yourself and remember less is more.
ALCHOHOL IS NOT THE ANSWER. As a member of RADD(Raver angainst drunk dancing) I would hate to see aria turn into another club full of drunks who bump into each other and get into fights with each other because their drunk. Imagine the amount of violence occuring then. Not to mention the possibility of strokes(when E is mixed with alchohol). For those of us who live in the states and hate partying there aria drug dealers are sometimes the only option when we whant to kick it up a notch. Just my oppinion:rolleyes: |

| I don't see what closing the hip hop room would do to help ARIA? Maybe to change it into a bar is a pretty cool idea but like someone mentioned earlier the hip hop room is probably bringing in more money then the house room. Honestly though Aria is a pretty dirty place and I think the first thing that should be done is renovations. Back in the glory days it didnt matter that Aria was dirty because the vibe was insane but only people in denial can say its still the same vibe now. Another thing that needs to change is the residents, no offence to any of them but I just don't think there music is "working" with Aria. The only residents at Aria that I would say works is Creator and Marco G because they have been around for a while and they know there . Not saying the others don't know there stuff but there stuff aint for Aria. |

There's something about Aria that makes it special. They do have the best bookings imo. And their residents are off the fkn hook imo. Creator, Marco G and Kal are my top 3. Maus is not far behind either. I DO NOT want to see Aria stop any time soon. I'm only a year old into the scene, so plz, DO NOT close Aria. My God, sooooooooooo many amazing nights there...From Diggers/Howells to DJ Dan to the resident nights...Best PARTY for me at Aria was DJ Dan in November and best night MUSICALLY at Aria was Digweed/Howells in September.
I love Stereo, it will always be my favourite afterhours BUT!!! Aria has a VERY special place in my EDM heart...And I wanna do anything I can to help out JF :) I'd cry so much if I saw a post from you saying that it was all over. Mon dieu...It would be like the worst nightmare ever.
2 or 3 international DJs per month is WAY more than what Stereo/Circus are doing...And JF, you make a VERY good point when you say that May is slow due to the fact of exams and students leaving the country. One of my bestest friends missed Sander cuz of a 16 page paper. Plus alot of my friends are international students, and it's true, alot of them are leaving mid-way through May to go back home for like, 2 months.
Let Aria have the month of May as a resting period. (God knows Martin's 6 hour set won't be restful, it's gonna be sick!) I'm SURE that this summer will be insanity at it's best at Aria.
Don't lose hope guys, c'mon...It is one of the best places to be at...EVER! |

:nervous:
crois moi Jfl, je veux juste ca que ca fonctionne, like the good old days and i still believe a techno night got place in montreal. I hope i'm not alone :P
GOOD LUCKKKKKK AND COMMON PEOPLE BRING BACK THAT FEELING
louis should comeback too, think about it jfl ;) |

thats an event. wasnt in a club were talk about aria and stereo.
BeB only happens once a year. Wish stuff like that was like 4x a year. True there is... Swirl, nothing compared to BeB and you have Celebration. Cream dead. One thing Cream was the best thing for this city imo.
Man I would love to see something like Cream once a month, Im a pushy bastard.
I have a feeling I will be spening more of my time at SAT now seeing I am really enjoying Electro and Minimal more. |

| 6-7 years ago I was like 12-13. Couldn't go out to any clubs to see people like Sasha spin. I would of loved too but, laws here do not let it. |
