We just have different tastes ;)

When im in the mood, I love when The Dish get crazy techy. I also cant get enough of David Morales when he gets all circuity. I know alot of others dont dig it, but I love it. And although I have yet to see Roger Sanchez (still kicking myself for missing him at TIL) I know I would go nuts for the disco. I can appreciate all three of them otherwise, but I love when they switch it up.

Generally, i let peoples opinions just roll off, but JXL was the set of US 9, hands down.

same..junkie xl never sucks
his productions and his sets, even if they are pre-recorded
the guy is amazing with tons of energy and you will always dance to his stuff

Well thats the thing, just because people cannot 'see' him mixing, or doing stuff does not mean its pre-recorded.

He had a lot of custom equipment up there, and I am sure it was more a PA than a DJ set.

Matthew Dekay at the Guv, October 1st, 2005.

This was his set;

thump, thump, thump, thump, CD skip, thump, thump, thump, thump, CD skip, thump, thump, thump, thump, CD skip, crowd goes Booooooo, thump, thump, CD skip, crowd goes Booooooooooooooooo, crowd leaves to other rooms or for a smoke until he got his act together.

First time I've ever heard a crowd boo a DJ at the Guv.

Dekay was teh wurst I've ever seen at the Guv in my 4.5 years there.

??? so he was making the cd skip on purpose :conf:

I guess he enjoyed getting boo'd on purpose too.

Ultra Spin 9 back in Feb had bad music imo.

All the sets seemed so dull and unenergetic.

(yet I missed his set w/ Miller two weeks following which I heard was far worse)

It was actually 4 weeks following, and yes it was.. The track selection was so horrible - the worst gay house tracks one could find.. i thought i'd go insane, but then Sean just in time came on with MUCH darker and sexier beats, the vibe COMPLETELY changed - what a twist.

I don't know if anyone else noticed how HORRIBLE Danny Howells's set at Decandence 3 was. It was confusing - Sander played an outstanding set for what, 3 hours? Very electro and very pumping.. then Howells decides to play the most boring progressive tracks I've ever come across, and I'm a huge progressive lover.. I was way too bored and was sitting on the speakers watching the crowd, and I've never seen anything like that - everyone was just standing not sure how to dance or react to the music.. the only good thing he did was play Thomas Schumacher - Red Purple.. :whip:

Point Counter Point is a better song on the vinyl. You gotta stop listening to Pierce's recommendations lol.

I agree though...which is why I left to check out AVB. Danny Howells has disappointed me twice. What did you think of his NYE set? That is...if you payed attention to any of it. haha ;)
