i haven't seen so many people NOT dance to dj in my life ever before. I was on the stage and when i looked around i saw about 5 people dancing to his set, thats all.

I actually wasn't fond of his last 20 minutes...but I was still dancing :P When aren't I dancing?

I guess I didn't explain my self properly.

I just found that, as soon as a song peaked, he would quickly transition into the next song, and start another build. You could hear his mixing abilities, which are great, but I just wish he would have left some of the tracks play out a little bit longer.

It was something I did not expect from having listened to a few sets at home.

Great thread Bobby. All the makings of quality discussion, contraversy, and debate.

Armin @ Decadence -- seriously...

I was sitting in the hallway next to the coat check in the Kool Haus, waiting to hear something worth for me to get up.

As far as Picotto goes, I agree his set at US9 was atrocious, not to mention the fact that when he opened... he himself had his hands on his ears due to the terrible sound/scratching/distorsion coming out of the speakers. I haven't lost full faith in Mauro yet... he can still get a crowd of 2000 singing the chorus of Komodo in unison, and have them all jumping when the beat hits.

Agree with me or not, its been disapointments lately for The Lizard Man, but I dunno.. i still really enjoy some of his older tracks. Hopefully, if he returns ... maybe he will redeem himself, like someone did on May 21st.

Simply my opinion...

i suggest you check out marco carola next week at cz
him and picotto were at the guv and marco would drop a sick track and picotto would drop a track and like that for a few hours, i was wishing for picotto to get off the decks

From reading the reviews, it does seem as if there is an abundance of good talent out there. With everybody yelling "best night ever", or "OMG I DIE", it would lead people to believe that every night out is not something you want to miss.

So what was the worst performance you saw in the last year? I don't go out that often, so its pretty easy for me to decide on it.

Blank & Jones @ Ultra Spin 9
Track selection was meh, a big meh, mixing was fine, but their flow and energy was terrible. I really felt like the set was going no where. I pretty much stayed till the end just to give them a chance, but they never recovered. I remember seeing a lot of TAs sitting around saying WTF is this?? I guess their bad performance was magnified by having to follow Steve Porter and JXL who played incredible sets.

Is it just me, or does every night get the "Best night out" award?

wow.. i dont know what your talking about that was probably their best set ever spun (next to the one they laid down on chinese new years at guv) or maybe it was better.. I remember they were playing such nice classics, and plus when was the last time you heard a kay cee track at a party? this was a nice revival of 2000 trance by the best club trance selectors in the game.. jumping not boring and full of energy, its not progressive and smooth ill give you that but its a nice kick

even worse was this guy called John Creamer i heard in cancun. I never heard of him b4, but thought i'd check him out. Wholey crap did he suck large. Ok i guess some ppl like minimal, but isn't it at least supposed to progess a little bit? It felt like i was listening to a bass drum for 2 hrs. and the big moments were when the hi-hat would come in. Like wholely crap, you suck get off.

It's too bad he's so unpredcitably inconsistent with his live performances. 20% of the time he is spot the on, but others, I just don't know what happens.

One thing is for sure though, his solo productions, as well as those with Stephane K are straight ing gold.

BPT feat. DM Binxter - Moody (John Creamer & Stephane K Remix)
Dub Pistols - Problem Is (John Creamer & Stephane K Remix)
Iio - Rapture (John Creamer Mix)
Jason Downs - Cherokee (John Creamer & Stephane K Mix)
John Creamer & Stephane K - Forget the World (Original Mix)
Kosheen - Hide U (John Creamer & Stephane K Mix)
New Order - Crystal (John Creamer & Stephane K Remix)
Rachael Starr - Till There Was You (John Creamer & Stephane K Club Mix)

I'm also going to take a couple stabs here...

Were some of these performances possibly as bad as they were because you didn't really like the subgenre that said DJ chose to spin on this particular night?

What about your drugs? Maybe they just didn't rub you the right way on this night, making almost any track sound like .
