Matthew Dekay at the Guv, October 1st, 2005.

This was his set;

thump, thump, thump, thump, CD skip, thump, thump, thump, thump, CD skip, thump, thump, thump, thump, CD skip, crowd goes Booooooo, thump, thump, CD skip, crowd goes Booooooooooooooooo, crowd leaves to other rooms or for a smoke until he got his act together.

First time I've ever heard a crowd boo a DJ at the Guv.

Dekay was teh wurst I've ever seen at the Guv in my 4.5 years there.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect yours.

However, as a fan of Mathew Dekay and someone familiar with his style of music his set was very good. It was down tempo and progressive, but appropriate for that part of the evening.
He knew he was the opening DJ that night, and he played his role, his mixes were stellar and his tunes were great(with the exception that he didn't play digifruitella).
CD skipping is something that can hardly be blamed on a DJ. I'm sure every DJ on this message board has had a record or cd skip on them at some point or another, and it is just something that you need to get over because it happens.

Like I said I respect your opinion, and for you it probably was the worst set ever, but musically it was good.
It is just that his style is probably not what you were wanting.

ive heard fab sets from nevio tho :)

and i heart vibe!(he was AMAZING)

sorry :(

No need to be sorry...

I never said that I totally enjoyed Nevio's set that either, just didn't like the "I'd be surprised if Vibe came back" comment.

What one person may like may not be the same as someone else.

Johan Gielen in January/February... yawn...

Greyarea @ Labour of Love

I dont think there was any electronic sound in their set, just an hour of YEAAAAAH WAAAAAAH and SPLASH as he threw water into the crowd:mad:

Nevio's Opening for DJ Vibe...

EASILY

(yet I missed his set w/ Miller two weeks following which I heard was far worse)

Notable Runner Up's
- David Guetta @ the Cross was atrocious, he opened with "No More Conversations" and then he went to nowheres-ville, the crowd wanted to hang him. hah Paul Harris stole the show right from under him. To be fair Guetta's second gig at Lot 332 was one of my fav's of this year.
