However, as a fan of Mathew Dekay and someone familiar with his style of music his set was very good. It was down tempo and progressive, but appropriate for that part of the evening.
He knew he was the opening DJ that night, and he played his role, his mixes were stellar and his tunes were great(with the exception that he didn't play digifruitella).
CD skipping is something that can hardly be blamed on a DJ. I'm sure every DJ on this message board has had a record or cd skip on them at some point or another, and it is just something that you need to get over because it happens.

Like I said I respect your opinion, and for you it probably was the worst set ever, but musically it was good.
It is just that his style is probably not what you were wanting.

Oh yes, his music selection was great, nothing bad to say about that, and his mixes were smooth too, I'll give him credit.

However it wasn't just one or two skips, which I always forgive, and others too. But there were at least 5 skips in less than an hour, and everyone around me (centre floor, by the 1st podium) got very annoyed, some left for the Drink, others like my group went to the patio for a smoke. I wasn't the one doing the booing, it eminated from all around me. I'm sure he learned from it since.
Orko
AVB @ decedance wasnt great either, and his encore "Sail" was terrible.

For one, i hate the track, and two its not something you end the night with, its so...blah. Plus his taking requests from everybody just got to me.

I hope he plays better at LoL

I didn't hear any booing. I was hanging out with Shanny and Vrk that night and we had fun. The only part of Dekay's set that was lacking was, his builds to songs. I mean, I just wished he would would have left the peak of a song in for longer than he did, but otherwise I really really liked his set, and I want to see him again.
arghh
mauro picotto.

I think that is why I didn't enjoy him either. It wasn't what I wanted to hear or expected to hear. If I were going back into parties that lacked for me in 2005, this would be one of them.

When I saw fatboy slim spin at the docks, his recs were skipping like every 10-15 minutes. Sometimes it's just the set-up (ie: not enough vibration dampening, bad tables, etc.).
