or with an overly dominant regular season and a crappy post season. still applies to the statement it dont matter what you do in the regular season (granted you play well enough to make the postseason) it only counts in the fall...

the yankees haven't been in it or won it for 6 years now? how much more of a drought before regular fans begin to notice that the yankees are in their low (compared to the golden ages) yet people still hold a stigma over their heads? because of their payroll? cmon, yankee fans are still filling the stadium even though we haven't won a ring. i think this whole yankee bashing really needs to stop because fact is when the mets went through their low, no fans filled the stadium and now that the yanks are in their low and the stadium is almost always 50K+ only leads me to believe that most other fans are just haters.
and me as a yankee fan, im rooting for the cards, i've been rooting for them this whole post season, not once did i say this is the worst ws ever |

The only people that really care about this world series live in St. Louis or Detroit. There is a smattering of other real baseball fans that care (I'm watching most of the games) but overall, it's not exactly one of the compelling. It could be though with a few more tense games and it goes game 7 with some fireworks there.
Until then, Kenny Rogers eating tootsie rolls by a heater is the biggest story so far. |

Which bandwagon are you gonna jump on next year? Just curious...
As I mentioned in my post, I'm watching the game. I'm just stating facts based on TV ratings across the U.S. My preference has nothing to do with anything. Since I hate the Red Sux and definitely don't like the Mets, no... that wouldn't be my preferance. |

First of all... the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox have the two biggest fan bases in the world... I'd say the Yankees have the larger, just because NY is.... NEW YORK... but...
NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE in New England... and probably New York... gives two s about the St. Louis Cardinals, or Detroit Tigers...
So... I'd say...
I'd approve of the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Dodgers, Braves, Indians and Cubs... going to the World Series
thats about it... because those teams have large fan bases... Cards may have a large following, but its the friggen CARDINALS... can we get any more BLAND!?!?!?! |

no matter how you spin the word "low", consistently having one of the best records in the majors this decade is not an actual "low".
pirates, rockies, royals, rangers fans, etc would only dream of being that "low" for this decade
when the yanks actually had losing records 1989-1992, their attendance was in the bottom half of the AL (8th out of 14 in 89, 9th out of 14 in 90, 11th out of 14 in 91 and 92)
