z103 is always a few years behind the rest of us on here.
More reason to not listen to the radio unless it is for rock or alternative or whatever I am in the mood to hear :) |

TiL is just a venue, it easily has the potential to lit up as brightly as System did in terms of vibe.
For me personally it's the second best space in Toronto (Drink being the first)... |
i like the way that you're thinking, drinks on me on 3rd.
i dont care about the crowd there, sander k is coming back.
i ing love this is london, every time there was a new adventure (boy oh boy) lol.

I'm greatful when any headliner DJ comes to Toronto, and I'll go see him no matter what kind of box he's playing in.
We should be lucky for what we get, shouldn't we.
and what happened to it being all about the music anyways? |
I like the truthfulness in this statement! |

totally to each their own, I just think TiL hasn't been given a chance to shine yet. |
"One can predict that different areas within the club will be colonization by these two clubbing crowds. Though strikingly different, each group will learn to tolerate the proximity of the other, and perhaps a clubbing culture will emerge that is a mixture of the two. After all, couldn’t the puma-sneakered crowd learn to put a bit more umph into their style? And wouldn’t it be a benefit to everyone in the room if the bottle service crowd learned to take themselves a little less seriously?"
could describe a couple of places around town....
8 months into the Soho nights at This is London and a slew of world renowned DJ's have been heard in a small club setting...
DEED DISH
CEVIN FISHER
SCUMFROG
DIMITRI FROM PARIS
MISSTRESS BARBRA
ROGER SANCHEZ
LITTLE LOUIE VEGA
VICTOR CALDERONE
STEVE PORTER
BENNY BENASSI
LAURENT GARNIER
DONALD GLAUDE x2
DERRICK CARTER
MAX GRAHAM
BAD BOY BILL
DANNY HOWELLS x2
DEMI
LUKE FAIR
DESYN MASIELLO x2
NIC FANCUILLI
ROBBY RIVERA
DJ DAN
CARL COX
and more to come
not only is this amazing in itself but what an opportunity for many of our own locals to have opened/closed for them as well....
Sander K may wind up being like a Sanchez party or a Benassi party - via the commercialism of these DJ's during their appearances while here - but as echoed by others - I love the club and what it is becoming and is still striving to be and enjoy every friday night I am there to celebrate the coming of the weekend.
It so hard to find the correct balance of people vibe music and sound and very few spaces can do it consistantly progressively and with longevity - I like to think TIL can be a viable option for many of these depending on the night and that makes it unique and different which is a good thing.
I have had worse friday nights out on the town in this city over time.

| quote: | Heck.. I went to Sander in Miami just to go because my friends wanted to. (They had agreed to go to all of the other parties I wanted) I had seen him at the System party and enjoyed myself but was not blown away like everyone else...
I went there expecting mediocore and was completely blown away.. enough to say that party is in my Top 5. |
Was that this year at WMC? It was something amazing that's for sure.
Anyways, I think RJ's post sums it up. We can laugh, but to the uninformed, this is 'new' and so long as it is out there, it can't be bad for us. If it bothers ppl so much, call in and 'correct' the z1035 guys. I'd enjoy listening to a caller kindly 'informing' the on-air personality of their multitude of errs :) |

information isn't factually accurate based on who the reader is. (or audience is in this case)
Saying he's an "up and coming" DJ is ludicrous... |
It's not entirely ludicrous and within the context of z1035 it is entirely accurate.
Sander K is most likely a new artist to most of z1035's core audience. He is not NEW to the world of music but is new(er) to their audience, yes.
"Up and coming" literally means that one is showing signs of advancement and showing great promise. One can be very well known in one scene and be entirely new in another scene (i.e. Tommy Lee - rock & roll, DJ'ing).
So, yes - Sander K is showing signs of advancement and great promise (up and coming) within the z1035 audience base (i.e. their audience is responding to him as a newly exposed artist.
I'm not entirely agreeing with z1035's approach - I'm simply stating that the only thing "ludicrous" is that a bunch of "in the know" scenesters are perpetually having fits about some commercial radio station introducing artists to their core audience. |
