It does? lol
I don't know, it's always had a rookie becoming pro feeling for me. And why the hell are you so fervently defending Z103? |

I heard that Sander song "This is Miami" for the first time the other day. That song is sick!
I had never heard of this sander guy before then, where did he come from!
He's like totally incredible. |

It's not entirely ludicrous.
"Up and coming" literally means that one is showing signs of advancement and showing great promise.
One can be very well known in one scene and be entirely new in another scene (Tommy Lee - rock & roll, DJ'ing). Within z103.5 core audience base - Sander K is a new(er) artist.
So, yes - Sander K is showing signs of advancement and great promise (up and coming) within the z1035 audience base (i.e. their audience is responding to him as a newly exposed artist.
I'm not entirely agreeing with z1035's approach - I'm simply stating that the only thing "ludicrous" is that a bunch of "in the know" scenesters are perpetually having fits about some commercial radio station introducing artists to their core audience. |
It is ludicrous because Z103.5 is deliberately misleading their audience. It's not because they do not know, because unless their staff has their collective head stuffed up their ass, a little search about the dj/producers would get them a whole lot of info.
The world does not revolve around z103.5. What they want the djs to be seen as do not matter in the big scheme of things. |

So why are we on the 3rd page of arguing over this?

Not every venue can suit evryone's taste, and for what TiL is aiming for, it does perfectly in my opinion. A more mature crowd that wants to listen to all of the top DJ's, but doesn't want to deal with the riff raff or sketchtards that normally frequent other venues. Who ever said they were out to mimic System anyway? Every venue has it's own vibe and memories, Sonic will never replace Boa and TiL will never replace System, people need to stop living in the past and enjoy the fact that there is in fact a club for almost everyones taste. |
i agree 100 percent... that's what makes toronto's scene so wicked ,the variety of types of clubs.... |

It's not entirely ludicrous and within the context of z1035 it is entirely accurate.
Sander K is most likely a new artist to most of z1035's core audience. He is not NEW to the world of music but is new(er) to their audience, yes.

But sander didnt change his style. Its just that Z 103 finally decided to play his music. If tommy lee had a song out with motley crue for 2 years and suddenly a rock station played it and called it "new" people would be outraged all the same. |

Stop with your sensationalizing. Nobody would be outraged, people that don't know that it was out 2 years ago would continue to wallow in their own ignorance, and people that would find out that it's not new would just go, "heh, I guess it's not new afterall". THAT'S IT. Nobody's going to be sending angry letters to prime ministers or setting fire to buildings.
IT'S NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL how "new" some radio station calls an artist. REALLY. |

As a fan of dance music im outraged. I do get pissed off when certain people of influence mislead the public for their own gain. Especially when it involves my own livlihood. |

i can never understand why threads about Z103, top40, ginos, etc. get so much attention on TA
it's like there's this huge consciousness here about what the mainstream media perceives dance music or its scene. a lotta ppl here like to come out and rip the mainstream, but i find it ironic that there seems to be interest in what they think as well..

Because what goes on in the mainstream world tends to affect the dance music scene whether we like it or not. |
