Some of u guys just gotta realize, THE SCENE IS DEAD . It aint 2000-2001 anymore guys. Vinyl and Twilo are finished. ITS TIME TO MOVE ON. in NYC is corny and no matter how many events u go out to, especially the big room, aint gonna change. It used to be about the music and the overall cool vibe. Now, the music is not even close to being good and u see the worst crowds ever at these events. At this point, its all about going to a wack event, spending a load at the door to get in, only to see horrible ppl next to you left and right who totally dont respect what the underground EDM scene is all about, being PLUR. After this past Sat with DT and Cox at Pacha, I realized that after 4+ yrs of goin out, it just aint worthing coming out anymore, unless its to support close friends like at TFST or something. For the n00bies, it prob isnt dead cause they have never seen it the way the older folks on the board have, but its only a matter of time before even they see how corny it is too.

So stop posting in the event threads... no one wants to hear your 'I remember back in (insert year) how cool the scene was' bull.

No wonder none of you ever have fun when you go out. Look at the mindset that you have.

I seriously wonder how much fun some of you would have had if you'd been the same age that you are now and had the same experiences under your belt when we had the "golden age of clubbing." Most of you were still children with no responsibilities, took lots of pills and were experiencing something new and exciting. Life's different now, it's no surprise that you have different outlooks.

It's hard to constantly live up to your past experiences, no matter what area of life you're talking about, because once you've been impressed, you have to have that met or upstaged to enjoy it again.

LOL.. have fun at lawler, i cant ditch my own party for another. peace.

I think genre restriction is a problem, too, as you get bored with the same sound over time. That's why the more successful DJs like Sasha, Digweed, Hawtin, Burridge, etc. have changed their style over time.

It's not just the scene that's changed for the worse though. If you compare sets from the late 90's and early '00 with now, the music then was significantly better, especially in the trance genre. It was the combination of great music and great crowds that made parties amazing. Now, it's pretty rare to find both except at smaller venues.

Yeah, my first real experience going out to this music was NYE2005 but Ive been listening to the music forever. I do wish I was able to start going out way before I did though. I'm sure pre-2002 sets from Armin, Tiesto and Oakie were just phenominal. :D

Thats really a matter of opinion don't you think? Maybe your tastes have changed. Mine certainly have over the years.
