Kids today are far more familiar with the names Tiesto and Armin than they are with Sasha or Digweed.
Whether you like it or not, the Dutch super DJs are more relevant to the scene today than the old UK progressive heroes, who are slowly starting to fade.
Times move on, some DJs fall out of the top ten, while new ones enter.
Get over it. |
To be fair, Sasha and Digweed have both stagnated somewhat in recent years as well.
I'm a huge fan of both, but they're both shells of their former selves IMO. |

I know, it's sad to me because Sasha and Digweed were such a big part of my early years in the dance scene. I have seen them a few times lately (together and apart) and I just can't get into their sound, it's too electro-ish, weird vocally stuff, no groove building like how it used to. It's like they are trying to do something new to stay current, but it just doesn't resonate with me the way that their old sets used to.
Like I said, you can't live in the past, you have to move on. |

Explain to me how Dan and CL can be top 5 on
DJ mag yet not place anywhere near the top 25 in every other DJ poll?
A popular regional DJ or resident DJ does not make one popular across the globe. Dan is not even the most popular Dj at his own agency either? WTF!!
And no, all the yanks didnt vote for him...just the bull votes that were put together came from US IP addresses. |
Because only die hard trance fans vote on the other polls. Dan and Chris got the votes on the one that matters.
I didnt say he was the most popular, but he is in the top 5 most popular/grossing djs at his agency. |

Anybody?
DJ DAN might be good and stuff, but one dosent just bump in at No. 5 DJ in this world like that...he has to climb up the ladder, look at Armin he is working so hard but still he is No. 2 .. he is DJing since 5 years now? And how much time he took to come up to top 5 list.. he worked hard for it and he deserves it, he deserves to be no 1... but this guy DJ DAN used the shorcut to fame. |
Uh dood. DJ Dan has been Djing since late 80's. He has not been taking any short cuts. |

because most people on this board started listening to electronica when tiesto and armin began spinning and never got out of that bubble to explore other genres. |
