DJ DAN might be good and stuff, but one dosent just bump in at No. 5 DJ in this world like that...he has to climb up the ladder, look at Armin he is working so hard but still he is No. 2 .. he is DJing since 5 years now? And how much time he took to come up to top 5 list.. he worked hard for it and he deserves it, he deserves to be no 1... but this guy DJ DAN used the shorcut to fame. |

I really think you've missed the point here. For a start, stop taking the list seriously. It is nothing more than a list. It's inaccurate. DJ Dan is a veteran, meaning he's been spinning for people for a lot longer than armin has. Armin hasn't just been spinning for 5 years you know... The simple fact is, anybody with a good press team can make this list. Do you think that pvd, tiesto, armin, above & beyond etc are honestly the best technical djs in the world? The problem is that people such as yourself take this list for much more than it is. Most of these people named in the top 100 are not technically the best in the world, nor play the best music, they just manage to get people to vote for them. Since the inception of internet voting this poll has gone downhill fast. Go check the results from 1997-98 & 99 for more accurate lists from those particular years, they were definitely more accurate than the last 4 yrs. There is no way on earth that armin is technically 2nd best in the world, nor best, nor even in the top 10, he just has marketable appeal, simple as. |

to answer this point, I don't know of any lists, but i really don't think they'd be any more accurate, they'd just suit whatever the people in those countries were into. The sad thing is, there are hundreds of great DJs who you may never get the chance to see because they're not listed. They're as good as anyone in the lists, and play often better sets, not having to stick to the same playlists to keep people happy. Rather than going by who's popular, go by what your ears tell you |

I don't like Dan's music, but he has been one of the biggest DJs in America for over fifteen years. He was DJing before Armin bought his first turntables.
Which brings me to Armin, whose climb in the Top 100 was one of the most suspicious on record:
2000 - Armin did not place
2001 - Armin debuts at #27
2002 - Armin jumps to #5
Coupled with the fact that Armin was DISQUALIFIED from the BPM 'America's Favorite DJ' poll for cheating in 2005. It is common knowlege in the industry. You can read about it below;

I heard about armin cheating in bpm years ago, funny, I thought people had forgotten. it is ironic that the people moaning about dan going in at number 5 dont even realise that armin's climb was so suspect and waaay faster than dans. love it. |

EDM is not as popular in France as it is in the USA. |
