i'd rather prefer to hear schnauss solo. very chill + ambient seems out of place when spliced into a set (eg. GU24 Reyjivik). On My Own fit in with Involver b/c it's one of mr.schnauss' faster tempo beats and somewhat danceable. |

?
it seems like charlie may lays down the groundwork/foundation (bricks and mortar) and sasha perfects everything (landscaping, interior/exterior design) |
some great metaphors there man hahahaha |

Oh man, I hate Schnauss! His tracks sound too finished and too perfected. It's as if every element of each of his tracks is there because it is widely accepted for it to be there. Boards Of Canada's "The Campfire Headphase", which is somewhat similar in concept to Schnauss' music, beats the out of his music in my opinion. |

| Any news of this Album...supposedly it should have been released by now.....but not even a tracklist is available. |

It's only halfway through the year. "Well into" easily signifies towards the end of the year. |

oh okay thanks..I just read somewhere on the GA forums that it should have been released in the summer..thought maybe just a rumor.
Thought looking at Sasha's busy tour schedule in the summer....I'm having doubts it will come out by the end of the year..could be pushed to 08..maybe. |

you are either retarded or badly sarcastic.
Boards Of Canada's "The Campfire Headphase" released at the same time, but in no way directly comparable
its like he actually planned or perfected his tracks!! what an idiot|
(thats you)
Far Away Trains and a Strangely Isolated Place both came out before the BOC album...hmmm| |

In other words, it feels to me that he structures his tracks so that people would like them and buy his albums. I find his material to be cheesy. |

The reason why I am comparing Schnauss' sound to TCFHP album is because, as I already said, the concept of this particular BoC album is similar to that of all of Schnauss' music. The moods are similar and both derive similar mental images of green and sunny landscapes, and summer and spring time. Both of Schnauss' albums sound too straight forward, it's just boring. Plus the melodies sound quite uninteresting as well. It feels like he is too afraid to take chances and do a some sound experimentation. And whilst BoC's TCFHP is definitely not my favourite from them, it still sounds more innovative than anything by Schnauss. I don't see how thinking all this makes me an idiot. Just go attack some Armin fans and get your fix from that. |

Fair enough. Personally, I find his productions to be exceptional. I don't know why any producer would structure a track so that people wouldn't like it. I think you are saying that he is 'playing safe' but that's his style of production - the style he wants to produce. Every successful artist has certain traits or signatures and he's no different. |

He's supposedly been trying out material at the 3 gigs I've seen him at in New York recently (last Thursday @ Cielo, the Le Souk boat party in May and the Love gig with Three in April (? too lazy to check calendar). All of those parties have been a ton of fun, so I'm optimistic about the new album.
If he's planning on putting out tracks from those parties, expect to hear Thom Yorke - The Eraser (Sasha remix) and this mix of Justin Timberlake - Sexy Back that he's played at all 3 of the mentioned gigs, usually late in the night, sometimes as encores. |
