I may be wrong, but I'm beginning to think there might not be an Involver 2...I think he just worked on a bunch of his own tunes and starting up a record label...his been talking about I2 since 05..even said he had half the tracklist composed...I really don't know whats going on but their should be some info on it by now..considering it should have been released by now or soon.

well, on of the end of July this year, I spoke with his tour manager face to face. I asked him why he has been in Dallas all summer(manager). He said because Sasha has been in the studio working on Involver 2. You think that might have changed or cancelled since?

If I see him out again, I'll ask him about it.

This has to be the compilation with the most hype yet the least amount of information released regarding it ever.

I don't know what really is going on...but if its set to be released by the fall..then there should be a TL or at least a proper release date. This usually happens with most CD's...unless everything is hush hush..don't know.

I'm slowing beginning to think now he just popped into the studio to produce some tunes with Charlie May set to be out on his new record label....and I2 was never in mind...but please prove me wrong...but consider the lack of info on this album set to be released...I'm doubting it now.

I'd absolutely love it if "Involver 2" were canned.

The idea should have been shot down the moment it was brought up - why in s name would you set those kinds of expectations for yourself?

regardless of the hype and the mass expectations of "involver 2", i for one am still excited for the release. i liked the idea of the original involver and i don't think this will disappoint.

if it were called something else entirely would you be satisfied? maybe "involver 2" is just a catchphrase to let the music media know what direction the upcoming comp is going to be in. :conf:

Yes, actually, I would.

Sasha has already done "Involver," I'd much prefer something completely fresh in every aspect and that doesn't instantly bias my opinion of the piece.

Watch, "Involver 2" is released and if it isn't perfect every single person on this website will write a variation of the exact same post:

"Well, it was good, but it wasn't even close to Involver."

The only reason I can see to do "Involver" again is to cash in on the first one's success, and I really don't like the idea of a "Involver" franchise.

Conversely, I think he could easily continue the Fundacion series much in the same vein as GU once was.

i had a feeling you were going to say that. we've already had this discussion multiple times before (and i agree with you on the name change to an extent, but only because i think "involver 2" or "blah blah blah 2" sounds cliche). i think the reason there's going to be an involver 2 isn't to "cash in" on the involver franchise, but (as i said before) it's just a continuation on the ideas from the first one- a mix cd full of remixes, pretty much. it's a somewhat fresh idea.

on the other hand, i think a fundacion series would be bland because the entire idea behind fundacion was just an average mix cd to show off ableton's capabilities, imo. nothing fresh about that.

unless the mixing and production is absolute dog , i don't think involver 2 will disappoint. it will (hopefully) be *different* in much the same way that the original involver was which may throw a few people off, i suppose.

in no way do i think "involver" will become a series, and if involver 3 comes out, well yeah i'll eat my hat. the only thing that would probably disappoint me with involver is if it were just more of the same. i hope he changes styles with the upcoming comp.

The only reason I mentioned "Fundacion" is because technically it was titled "Fundacion: NYC" and thought it would lend itself better to a series than Involver.
