w00ty!
This time I won't over sleep and miss the party @ Adrenaline cuz I actually took the day off from work.
:)
I hope to see you people there. I know alot of people are gonna talk about the venue or what not. But from what I heard w/Bronzwaer's party is that he still got to play. Close to 3 hours too.
You still get great tunes.. What more can you ask for :toothless |

I stopped by for Bronzwaer with some friends---first time to an Adrenaline party. I actually liked the smallish room....decent setup and decor for a smaller party---but when we're talking 20 people (IF THAT) at 1:30 a.m., that is terrible. I love great trance music, love a great trance DJ (esp when someone of such quality as this is brought in), but NO ONE wanted to stay when 20 people are there. You can't have any sort of vibe with an empty room. My apartment with the setup i have there is more entertaining! I am SORRY but 7 bucks a corona and 12 bucks for a dixie cup are DELANO prices and that ain't the DELANO. Ridiculous. Trying to recoup lost money through prices set that high marked the final straw....unless a crowd starts showing up, i'll never go back--if i DO, i'll be buzzed when i go so i won't spend much at all...not worth it.
Ended up at NOCTURNAL TERRACE later which as always, is a friggin' blast on friday nights.
I'm sorry though i missed the Saturday night at BLUE---now THAT sounded like a good time! |

which is why i go back to the fact that when the ppl who listen to the music can't support the scene down here... it'll never succeed.
u left to go to a house party.
that's great for you.
I think that's wack.
Whatever though. It doesn't hurt to help. No one passes the word around. When ever I go to a party I always make a post/bulletin about it.
Trance will never make it down here :(
I've gone to parties outside of the states with dj's that have never come to Miami.. and let me tell you. Atleast people show up and they don't even know crap about them probably. Huge difference between Miami and everywhere else. |

Maybe not at THAT venue, with the way things are being run, sorry to say. Nonetheless, I hope you have a good time, and more importantly, get a good turnout this Friday night. |

and if it's not that venue where?
the venue doesn't make a difference.
Blue looks packed cuz it's the size of my closet.
Even WMC Trance parties are empty. The party w/ Suzy Elevation TB and more was @ Jazid which is prob the same size of blue.
The only ppl @ Blank and Jones in Metro WMC?? Were TA's
The reason Blank and JOnes was packed the first time was cuz it was opening weekend @ Metro.
No one down here supports the smaller dj's PERIOD. No one. I don't give a fuk but I will support this event and this NEW promoter cuz for much longer I highly doubt I'll even be living here. |

I won't get into venues at this time.
But as for making a difference, the venue sometimes has to do with it and sometimes not. It's not always the ship. It could be the ship's captain, or the First Mate, if you get my drift.

WMC is dominated by you-know-what-genre. *barf* The fact we get ANY trance parties at all is a miracle in itself, to be quite frank. As for that opening at Metro, things were different then, and you know what I mean. I won't elaborate on it.
By the way, you must have one BIGASS in' closet. :wtf:

You do what you have to do. I only wish you well and no malice. I just hope for you and Thomas' sake that a Deja Vu from TB's night there does not come to re-visit. |

I think part of the problem is that you have 2 trance parties (Spirits and Adrenaline) being thrown on the same night, Fridays. The Spirits party having started with a bang first already has an advantage. Add in the fact that everyone down here knows who Acosta and Edgar are (as opposed to the DJs that Adrenaline are bringing who are great but not known by the general public in MIA), and Spirits has another advantage. Then once you take the fact that Metro/Area 51/[insert name of the week here] is hated by many people (and some of it is deserved) while Spirits is a beautiful venue, and you can see where the problem lies.
I am all for competition, but in this case it hurts this party. I really think they need to consider doing the Adrenaline trance party on Saturdays, and maybe change venues if possible, and defnitely get better promotions/promoters. This will give us 2 nights on the weekend to enjoy the sounds we all love, while letting both parties grow without taking away from each other.
And I did not see any hype or promotion for this party anywhere outside of TA. Last Tuesday there were 3000+ trance lovers @ Mansion, a perfect opportunity to promote this event. Yet when I left the party there were no promoters outside handing out any flyers or anything, no flyers on cars, or anything at all. Fatal error IMO. :whip:
Moreover they could post links to sets from the guests DJs on websites such as TA, CP and CJ so that people get exposed to the fact that these DJs can and will bring it just as good as the big name DJs can. I have heard sets from Bronzwaer that were great, including True to Trance sets. But I am sure many people (outside of TA) do not know who he is or what he has to offer. |

venue makes a difference, promotion makes a difference, name recognition makes a difference---it's all part of the equation. I knew that Adrenaline was not metropolis anymore, and trying to operate independently---so i gave it a chance.
PROMOTION is needed--and i'm not talking about a post on a site like this. Only about 100 people around Miami who are "tranceaddicts" read this---CLUBS NEED THE "AVERAGE PERSON" TO SHOW UP TO SUCCEED. The crowds will show to see a "big name" dj, but obviously most venues cannot afford to bring them in--nor would i want to see many of them actually. I like you, DO enjoy the smalleer/lesser known/up and coming DJs....But most people don't have a CLUE who they are.
I posted on COOLJUNKIE (yes the house site) and NO ONE RESPONDED--POST GOT 38 views or something. PEOPLE WHO ARE IN SCHOOL (MDC, U OF M, FIU, ETC...need to get classmates out, etc...i am not a promoter...i'm an administrative law judge. If promotion was my job, i'd be doing it. SOMEONE is not doing a very good job. I brought 5 friends...which when i was there, was 25% of the turnout.
I sincererly DOES hope it gets better. I'm moving back to CHicago anyways soon enough---but for MIAMI'S sake. Blank and Jones?? LOVE THEM....seen them bout 5 times since first seeing them back in europe in 1999. Great guys---always a blast.
But plese, don't knock me for going to a party where people actually were present and dancing. What's wrong with HOUSE MUSIC?? Who ever said because you like Trance you cannot like House?? That's ridiculous. I'm 29...been around the scene awhile...have come to appreciate and love many genres. If i only went to trance events, i'd not only get tired of it....but i'd be a pretty long and lonely weekend most times.
Anyways---looking forward to WMC and hopefully some Blank and Jones / ABOVE and Beyond??? |

| No need to apologize for going to Noc for the afterhours. That definitely is where the women are at late night on Fridays and Roland and company do a good job with that party. |

You pretty much said the things I didn't want to say because I'm finally getting on good terms with her. :o But yes, I whole-heartily agree with you on this one, dude. |

Okay.
You can not compare Spirits to The party on friday night by Addictive.
You guys fail to read my post clearly.
PEOPLE DOWN HERE WILL NEVERRRRRRRRR EVER SUPPORT SMALLER DJ's.
Let's make this like pee wee herman. Word of the day is SMALLER DJ's
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
You have ppl that listen to the music willing to drive all the way to ft laud to see the same dj's every fuking weekend? Instead of supporting smaller dj's?
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Give me a break.
Weekly's always fail because how often can they seriously change up the tracklist.
Plus I went to Spirits once. I hated it. The white ppl up there are the biggest dorks ever. PvD @ Spirits.. or PvD @ Space?? Compareable?? I think so.
I agree there needs to be a street team. I didn't read anymore of your posts then the first paragraphs at both.
But venue has almost nothing to do with it. Trust me. You really think if it was at PAWN SHOP ppl would have gone? Helloooooooo. Did u see how fast Rank 1 cleared out an already packed room. |
