| the ring is supposed to symbolize the commitment that you both have to each other. i dont think it has to be a diamond ring but for whatever reason this has become the defacto. |

theres lots of fake diamond rings that look just as good, hell even quartz can look good. |

when i get married, i'll gladly take an inexpensive (but unique and original) ring to wear on my finger, but the rest of the money should be spent on an awesome vacation/house/studio equipment/etc...
in general though i just dont really care for expensive/fancy jewelry. i love silver and opals and handmade stuff that's unique and one of a kind. everyone and their grandmother has gold and diamonds, and that's just boring to me. |

I did the same thing, but thats the only diamond I'll ever buy. All future jewelry is gold or some other precious stone that has real value. |
