Most dangerous drugs (pg. 8)

I still don't see how XTC can be better than some of those listed above it.

And what about LSD? I know nothing about it but do most agree here with its position on the list? Been thinking of dropping... friend tried it, said it was as interesting experience lol.

I'd say so. Meth not even being on the list. Definitely disagree with pot being higher up than ecstacy and LSD. And solvents? wtf? And PCP should have definitely been somewhere on that list as well.

Meth is a type of amphetamine, so its probably under there. And yeah ecstasy should be higher up. LSD not that much.

Given their methodology for determining how 'dangerous' a drug is, this list was set out to be flawed from the start. They asked for a subjective rating based on three factors:
1. the physical harm to the user
2. the drug's potential for addiction
3. the impact on society of drug use

The fact that amphetamine and methamphetamine as well as cocaine hcl and crack are both lumped together is completely f.ucking stupid.

Methamphetamine and crack both create far more physical harm, are much more addictive, and have a larger impact on society than amphetamine and cocaine hcl. They are related compounds but are different drugs and should have been seperated.

GHB should be much higher than it is, its very easy to OD on that or to use it to drug and rape someone. And wtf sense does it make to include prescription opiates like methadone and buprenorphine specifically on this list but not have hydrocodone an oxycodone which are probably the two most abused prescription opiate drugs. LSD has no business being on that list and weed should be at the very end, mostly because of the crimes related to it which wouldn't be an issue if it were legal like it should be.

And why is tobacco so low, its the most addictive substance known to man, we all know it kills you, and society ends up picking up the tab for poor terminally ill smokers plus you breathe their second hand smoke. And I think alcohol should be higher, abuse of it is more widespread than any other drug, it has serious negative health effects, and society is harmed by drunk drivers, abusive alcoholics, and broken up families.

A more reasonable list might be:

1. Methamphetamine
2. Crack
3. Heroin
4. Alcohol
5. Tobacco
6. Prescription Opiates/Opioids
7. GHB and its precursors like 1,4-Butanediol
8. Cocaine HCL
9. Amphetamine
10. Glue/paint/whiteout or whatever idiots decide to huff
11. Methylphenidate
12. Benzodiazepines
13. Barbiturates
14. Ecstasy
15. Steroids
16. Ketamine
17. Cannabis

You could argue that the top three really should probably be all tied for number 1, and I really feel like you could rearrange the top 6 a few different ways. My personal opinion is that alcohol should be number 1, but a lot of people would probably disagree with that.

That only happens exactly because of being widespread though. If heroine/crack/whatever was as widespread of alcohol, don't you think the numbers of high drivers and broken up families due to it would be bloody catastrophic?

lol it was, but because they simply weren't ready for it.

I still don't know why some people consider lsd as a dangerous drug though... I wouldn't even list it.

I agree with Xanax, tobacco and alcohol should be at the very least top 3.

I don't know, but they will never be as widely used as alcohol so we will never know. I doubt it though, I've watched at least 20 episodes of Intervention on A&E and of all the addicts on there the saddest, most pathetic, most ed up cases are always the alcoholics.

funny, i thought nicotine was the drug, not the tobacco itself.
MrJiveBoJingles
Yeah. And the nicotine itself is not too dangerous; the tobacco smoke (or liquid, with dip / chew) is what gives people cancer.

Doesn't LSD have no significant withdrawal/addicting effects on its belt?

As much as I don't agree with the "you can't get addicted to it" thing.
MrJiveBoJingles
If I remember correctly, MDMA itself has no chemically addictive properties, but I guess all of the tabs cut with amphetamines or caffeine could take care of the "addiction" part nicely.
