**DJ Preach @ Shelter Review** (pg. 2)

first time seeing him an i can say that i def enjoyed his set. the tracks he was playing were relentless! def enjoyed hearing him play the original smack my bitch up then flipped it into the remix everyone is playing nowadays (i just can t remember the mix of it right this moment)
i wish i had more energy for last night but between fri an getting drunk at the game saturday, i was pretty much shot by night fall. the nxt time preach comes to town i ll def be ready to dance my ass off properly. first time at shelter an i gotta say the main room for some reason felt more like at someones house (or something to that effect) than a club i def like that appeal to it because its something different than what we re use to seeing when we go to the mc clubs.
so... um preach, when u coming back to these parts again??? |

Whoah, just now feeling enough energy to write a review.
So I love trance and all, but these days there's only so much (as someone else mentioned) hands in the air worshiping the dj melodic vocal whiny-ness I can get excited about. There are times when PVD does sets that turn really hard and fast. I go to his shows hoping for that, and it doesn't always happen. I'm often just wading through a sea of his bad original productions. Then I saw SVD and he became my new favorite because he goes for it. But Preach just plays it harder and faster and more relentless than anyone I've seen. Absolutely great. I love when I only recognize a few songs and don't really care. Wasn't thinking, just dancing. Which was difficult, to put it mildly, because Friday at Love had already kicked my ass. Thanks to Strobelife for bringing him here, and to Kelly for insanely hyping the gig. I'd absolutely see him again, no question.
Unfortunately I missed Brad Miller, was hoping to get there early enough to see him again.
I had only seen Alex Pearce once, and didn't love it. This time he was totally different. Good stuff, excellent lead-in for Preach, and he really got people going.
What's up with no afterhours? This made me sad.
Nice to see everyone. The Preach t-shirts were excellent. |

I suck at IDing tracks but these are some I remember and can positively id...there were a bunch of tracks I should know the names to but oh well I don't.

Alex Pearce was great...I was unsure about the afterhours situation as well. As for the shirts, Jenn gets mad props for making and designing those :) |
