I just realized thru the FLUX of pm's just how many people were in hangover city saturday night. I have received like a million messages from people saying sorry but I am sick/throwing/up/headache/etc from the Love event or the Yankees game. The place woulda seriously been way more packed if not for the above events......IN CONTROL YOUR LIQUOR NYTA IT WAS IN PREACH YOU S!!!!! :whip: :D  :disbelief

*and for that matter, dont pm ME apologizing, pm Eco, since he put his balls on the line getting such a great DJ while everyone who said they were going were instead hanging their heads over toilets.....* :whip: :whip: :whip:

I have seen him play numours times in Montreal, a couple in Toronto, Ottawa, Amsterdam 3 times previous to seeing him there again in less than a month and now in NYC.

When exactly was it that you saw him play in Amsterdam? Guaranteed it was last year at some point in time or previous to Jan 2007.

He has changed his style over the past 6 months. I was disappointed at first too seeing as I loved the hard techno style he was spinning. But I have accepted it and love it now. There is nothing wrong with spinning tech-trance imo. He still pounded it out like there was no tomorrow. Like every other DJ, no one ever sticks to their original style. I have personally seen Philippe even play some tribal sounds in with his sets back in 2005.

You are totally entitled to your opinion and it is respected, but honestly, I have seen the man at least 10 times now and I can only say once out of those 10 I have been disappointed with a set. I will agree with you though that most times DJ's do play differently in N. America compared to the EU, but not in this case. I also bet that when I see him play Dance Valley in a few weeks that he will be spinning something similar to what he did on Saturday night.
It is his new style and either as a fan you are gonna accept it (like I did) or you are gonna move on.

EDIT: PS. My review will come when I get home from work.. lol
for now just random posts :D

Embrace definately is the better word, but my brain still isn't functioning well.. lol :)

not only is he mindblowing behind the decks, but he honestly and truly has been nothing but good to me whenever I have gone to see him and there is really nothing but respect for his fans. It isn't very often that you have a DJ that is so well rounded and appreciative through and through.

Not necessarily true....think about what eco said. Shelter is the name of the party. If someone was going to Shelter expecting some deep house and heard techtrance they might be dissuaded from coming back again. She was protecting her party.

I don't think she should have gave any negative expressions, but telling people that it's not the shelter party and that the music was techtrance would have been appropriate.

Word. Big ups to Matt and the whole crew on busting their a#@es to put on a really good party.

It was a blast, since the days of the loft party I don't get to play nasty tribal/tech stuff very often. Definately a treat

And Preach is a really good DJ, dude rocked it

Agreed, everyone wants a night like "we" had on Saturday but no one could show up. I thought I was going to DIE all night I felt so bad and I still got on the Ferry in SI and dragged my ass to see Preach just as everyone else should.

This weekend was all about supporting ALL of our LOCALS!!! Oh well Kelz, it will go down as a great night for me no matter what and I really hope the turn out does not deter Preach from spinning in NYC again.
