**DJ Preach @ Shelter Review**

I dont even know what to say except that the Preach that showed up is that Preach that I have always known: sick and RELENTLESS!!! I cant even believe that this man is not in the top 10 DJ's in the world. His set was so hard and banging that I literally asked him once if he was trying to kill us. (at which I got the reponse of many laughs) lol.....I couldnt find a single tune that I could rest or get a drink..... I was dead sober because I didnt even want to walk as far as the bar heeheee!!! Several people had mentioned that they tried leaving for the bathroom 10 times and couldnt leave, and thus were in serious pain LOL.
I was also YELLED at several times for not telling New York about him earlier!!! LOL I love it!! bastards! Find him on your own like I did! ;)
I am really hoping that Phillipe made his impression in New York. I know that he is used to playing packed out euro clubs and that he is not well known here (which I know is a little dissapointing to him, but I think he needs to give USA some time to feel him out). I think that the man proved himslef 10x's over last night and that we need to bring him back to manhattan. (Residency anyone???) I was thinking that it is nearly an *impossible* task to make a new york crowd that happy and the people on the floor were just RAVING over him. :D :D
Maybe I am biased and I have this respect for him from my montreal parties, but whoever didnt come out last night missed the set of the year so far....and I think people who showed up would agree. I know a lot of you kids were EXHAUSTED from drinking at the the yankees game (dude all of nyta was at the game) but preach made us wake the F*CK up!! LOL
Phillipe: I have nothing but *heart* and respect for you. Your talent is outrageous and my support for your music will always be there. I never thought a random guy from Montreal would hold my #1 DJ spot LOL. You are freakin funny as hell and always good to me and your fans I love it!! :) I wanna see your ass back in nyc babe!!
Final thought: This is something I had to write. For years I havent been feeling the same pre-party excitement or post-party sadness (esp sober!! LOLOL) :stongue: :stongue: Tonight was just one of those night that was fakin ol skool true sadness that the party was over after all that excitement, build up, and great toons/friends/vibe/etc. And let me just say that that is such a great feeling to have these thoughts despite that it wasn't a huge mega club packed to the max type thing. its good to know we can still have nights like that, that go down in the memory book!! :) :) :)
anyways, maybe more thoughts later on the shoutouts, friends, other dj's (SIIIICK!!!) but I had to throw out my thoughts on my DJ first of course!! thanks phillipe, nyc OFFICIALLY loves ya!!!! |

i just got back from work
ive been up since 6am sat mornin
iam dead tired
on to preach i got there as soon as he got on lol sick timing
right from the get go he does not around
banger after banger
i had to go to the bathroom for 45 min but i held it in
i just could not find a chance to leave the main floor
my legs are killin me from danceing soo much i dont think i danced like that in a long time but it was worth it
i was sweatin like a whore in church and i still didnt care
the beats kept me going
and i had alot of fun with the nyta's who were there
chillin with you guys made the first part of the night for me
the rest of the night was the dirty filthy preach was playin
shelter is a dope venue very cool syestem and it reminds me of arc so much madd underground
sorry to hear that there was no afterhours i was pissed cause i still wanted to party but its all good
overall this was the most fun night of 07 i had hands down |

Yeah I heard from someone it was recorded and that would be one of the best things EVER. That set would definately get me into workout mode at the gym. |

trust me i knew about preach since 03
i had sets and songs of his but i never seen him live he left such a good impression
lol and i was just goin nuts cause techno is more danceable than trance
i said in one of the threads that his music is not for the hands in the air touch the sky face the dj type
hes more the type that will make you lose more calories then the stairmaster for 2 hours lol |

Like most of the people said above Preach's set was unbelievable :crazy: :eyes: :crazy:. Every single track was ridiculous, mixing was awesome and his energy was great. Definitely one of the top two sets I've heard all year. I first heard Preach at Bal en Blanc this year was happily surprised and last night I was once gain blown away. I really wish more people could have made it out because if you are someone who likes techno / trance there is no way you wouldn't love Preach. I started out "in training" but I think I've moved up from that status :D.
Also great seeing the NYTAs who did make it out plus Jenn and Shelley, always a pleasure! |
