Did he play the original mix of Airwave when the crowd went nuts? Or some, good, bangin' mix? heheh. Being one that thinks Airwave is overrated...I sure loved it when he spun it...and definately best song of the night, with Moments Are Forever and Second Wave closely behind. Tranzy State of Mind was played too early, and I couldn't get into it, cause too many people were walking by at that time :(
Special K
yea it sounded like another mix of airwave to me
different arrangement with some added elements///???
TranceGeek
i think he did play legacy, just the svenson/gielen mix... i THINK :)
infinity HiGH
I doubt he did play the Svenson & Gielen mix, or the original...I would've recognized it, for sure. And I am 99% sure he didn't play Exhale twice...cause thats my fav System F song, I would recognize it the instant I heard the beat being mixed in...

I know exactly what you're talking about, even though i was trying to dance FULL BLAST the moving crowd really wouldn't let that happen. But when the flow slowed down, some asian guy in front of me just STOOD there, so i had to stand with him for a while, cuz it took me about 10 minutes to get to that place and i didn't feel like leaving.

BTW Trancearmada: you're owning this thread :stongue:

and oh ya, Stylez: Armin was the one who put Seven Cities on, then he went to chat with the "public" i was right there by the DJ booth, didn't get a chance to talk to him though :(. It looked like he just wanted a rest, he just laid back on the wall and rested :).

Truly it was one of the best nights I've ever had. Not much more I could have asked for. I made it there pretty early… around 10:45pm. I thought I'd be bored out of my mind waiting for AvB but was completely surprised by Mark Oliver's track selection. For the early part of the night up till midnight there wasn't many tracks familiar to me. It was more progressive but kept me moving the entire time. It was great to have so much space on the dance floor and still be able to talk to friends without people crossing between you and knocking you over. Close to midnight they flipped the switch on for the laser and Mark Oliver started throwing down some trance tunes. I haven't been to Guv since Bond so to me it looked pretty different. Seems like it had a lot more visual effects. The improvements that have happened to Guv so far look like a plus as well.

The T.A. meet up was great this time around. I was happy seeing/partying with the regular's… jazz, jasmyn, heatscore, malice, liquidchick, swamper (aka-machoman) & trancearmada (aka-trainspotter). Do we ever miss a good party? :p Also I got to meet a bunch of other T.A.'s… stylez, waxen (thanx for the sticker ;)), mavspire, time2burn, andorastar, itikia, dj mg, infinity high, xtc totalle, hardcore trancer & a few others… It was nice meeting all of you.

I went back to Guv a little before 1:00am and found the place packed to the rafters. Oliver was still throwing down some nice trance tracks when 1:15am came around and AvB was announced. Others and myself went nuts at this point and he started throwing down some nice hard tracks. I can't match many of the id's with the first 30mins of the set but can definitely recall most of the anthems he played from 1:45am to 5:20am. I heard a lot of common songs from different sets floating around, but I luved hearing all of them being mixed together by Armin. It was smooth, sweet and definitely intoxicating. The last time I heard a set that good was… well… none other than Armin at State '01. I preferred this set to the one at state since it flowed a lot better to me, and I had time to cool down after listening to him spin for 4 hours. Mark Oliver cleaned up nicely with a bunch of older trance tunes that Heatscore was id'ing like crazy. It was a perfect way for Oliver to finish off the night.

Some negatives… I remember dancing near the front with Trancearmada (while he was id'ing tracks for me) & Mavspire (I think) around 2:00am. This was the worst ever that I've felt in the crowd at Guv. We were getting rammed like crazy for about 45 minutes. The music was the only thing the kept me goin'. Also the heat in there was insane. I kept on forcing my girl to drink water to keep her hydrated and to make sure she wouldn't black out. That happened at Smirnoff during Nick Warren and it wasn't a pleasant site. From 3:30am on, the night was perfect…

Overall I give it a 9/10. Hearing Communication, Airwave, Open Your Eyes, Seven Cities, Strange World, Carte Blanche… & a few other older tracks between M.O. & AvB in one night was amazing. Jazz & Heatscore always tell me how I missed out on hearing some of these tracks & they were right for saying so. I went for the music, accepted the crowd and walked out happier than ever…
:p
