What a night!
Amazing set from AVB. A lot of old anthems but it is all good. Meet a lot of TA, since I am just new to TA. Anyway it was awesome.
PS Thanks for the stickers!!!!!!!! - you know who you are...:eyes: :eyes: |

Looks like a great night, I'm bitter I missed it, school will always be school I guess.
Durafei, if someone where to ask me, what is trance, I would show them the track list Armada came up with, that my friend was anything but progressive.
Blue_Neon, I remember you being pretty bitter during S&D about space? Compare them now. ;)

Armada listed 17 tracks, at least 3 of which are pure progressive (liquid overdose for example) - that covers around 2 hours of his set. That WAS indeed trance. But what about the other 2 hours?
Note: By progressive I don't mean progressive house, but rather progressive trance.
I think it would've been a better set if he started more progressive, followed by Trance. But he was constantly switching between the two genres. |

First off, I'd like to thank all of you who came out to the acid lounge for the meetup - it was definately the most successful meetup to date - it only took about 10+ attempts to finally get it right, lol. It's funny, the first attempt at a meetup was Sep 2000 @ Atlantis for Ferry Corsten (when he didn't show up  ) and the only person that showed up was Trancearmada... lol.. After that the next person I met was TimeWarp at PVD in feb 2001.. Only problem now is remembering Real Names, forum names, and matching the faces properly when ya say meet 10 ppl in the span of 15 minutes.. Bear with me :D Props to Waxen for spending time making those tranceaddict stickers!!!
...Armin played more of the older stuff to my surprise - I had no complaints since it had been a VERY long time since I had heard Carte Blanche at the Guv... oh man.. that was amazing... I liked his set last night more so than the one at State. The only problem was there was no room to dance so that seriously sucked - but, that's to be expected with popular events. I was pretty much happy when I found a spot where I could dance for a couple of minutes without having someone walking in front of me.. lol
Anyways, off i go to listen to music so I can update the singles tonight.. :D |

whatever, loser!!! If you people dont like GUV then DONT GO!!!
SIMPLE AS THAT!!! NOONE GIVES TWO ING S WHETHER OR NOT you think there were too many "slutty girls" or "muscleheads" or "ginos" or whatever...it will continue to be rammed week after week, you people just bring a BAD VIBE!!! STAY HOME!!! All you people ing do is WHINE LIKE BABIES!!!
waaaa waaaa waaaa this gino gave me a dirty look, so and so did this...give me a ing break already...!!!
I think ALOT of you just worry waaaaay too much about other people...
HONESTLY!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????????? |
Oh you are sooo right, Special K!!!!! It seems from reading most of the posts you're the only one here that makes any sense. I mean really, everytime we get any kind of event at the Guv it's always the same whining and bitching everytime.
WAAHH WAAHHH WAHH...BITCH BITCH BITCH....BOOHOOO!
You are so right when you say that the Toronto TA's bring such a bad vibe to the Guv. I mean everytime I'm at the Guv I know that it's gonna be pack like hell but it's nevered stopped me from having a great time. People are really nice there, it's always the TA's here that think that the Guv should only cater to them that is complaining.
I have friends from out of town who come here and absolutely love it here. I remember a friend who came over from Montreal once and asked us how the vibe was like here in Toronto because he was going to the Guv for the first time. Another friend told him the exact same thing that a lot of you are saying about the crowd at the Guv. Basically told him that the it's nowhere as great as the vibe in Montreal. Needless to say he wasn't looking forward to it at all. Anyways we went there that night and by the end of the night he was having a blast! Came up to us and said, "you guys are crazy!" This is wicked, everyone was so nice and was having a great time. The crowd here is great, you guys don't know how good you have it....."
Anyways, I'm glad that some of you said that you won't be heading back to Guv anymore. That's Great!!!! which means there will be less people at the Guv, but more importantly less people with an ATTITUDE! The way I see it, you are the ones that bring a negative vibe to the Guv. You think other clubs in around the world aren't crowded? with candy kids, ginos, whatever..? Please!
Like Special K said, you guys spend too much time worrying about other people, honestly...It only seems like the Toronto TA's complain more than anyone else. You can never please Toronto no matter how good we have it.
So for those that said that they will never hit the Guv anymore, I hope you really mean it the next time Tiesto or Pvd comes to the Guv. Which would be sweet since I'll have much more room to dance and there'll be less people there with a bitter look on his/her faces :) |

Plus one of my old favourite:
hemstock and jennings - Mirage of Hope (Lange Remix)

ok I have to leave for work in like 30 min so for now I am just going to say that it was a good set, I'll give it a 7.5/10 but I was a bit disapointed again. Just like a few people mentioned he played mostly anthems, and a few other things, but I was looking to hear something new out of him. Once again the GINO'S were in full force, so that ruined my night just a bit! :stongue:
I am gonna write a little more later tomorow, cause that's when I get off work, but for now I am just going to make a track listing of what he played.
2 Players - Signet (not sure whether it was the original or Plastic Angel Remix)
Midway - Monkey Forest (I WENT NUTS WHEN I HEARD THIS ONE)
Ralphie B - Massive
Tranquility Base - Razorfish (not sure which remix)
Rank 1 - Awakenings
Rank 1 - Airwave
Perpetuos Dreamer - Sound of Goodbye
Vaiio aka Iio - Rapture (Armin Van Buuren's Rising Star Remix)
Push - Tranzy State of Mind
Push - Legacy
Moon Projects - Moments Are Forever
Armin - Communication
Agnelli & Nelson - Everyday (Not sure which remix)
System F. vs. Armin - Exhale (he played this twice! LOL! Once in his regular set, once in the back 2 back set with Mark O.)
Veracocha - Carte Blanche
Solar Factor - Deep Sonar
Liquid Overdose - Fearsome Bass (Original Mix)
Project Medusa Vs Exor - Moonshine (Exor Mix Part 2)
WOOH! that took a while!
It's like a Top 40 trance list like someone mentioned earlier! LOL!
P.S. It was nice to meet all the new TA's I have not met yet! There was a lot of us there last night, I wish more parties could be like that!
Waxen thanx for bringing the stickers again! That was a good idea!
I'll try to write more later like I said! Have to leave for work now!

Well after waiting in 2 wrong line ups, the third time was a charm and withing the hour we were inside. Chechked our coats and went into the main room @ 12:50, headed straight for the acid lounge, but didn't find anyone there:conf:.
We headed out to the dance floor. I danced for about 10-15 min, then i realized that i was surrounded by TA :). I met about 7 of you, but only remember 3 names :). Anyways, I was the guy with a grey shirt and a silver necklace. The place was packed, so i apoligize straight away to the ppl whose feet i stepped on:p.
I agree with Durafeis' comment, he should have started out with more pregressive and then played his Trance tracks. But all i remember is that after Push - Trenzy State I went CRAZY, and didn't stop since!!! His set was very good IMO. Guys, come on, he went on ONE hour EARLIER than he was supposed to. But he should've played Communications a bit later on in his set, to get the crowed going more, but i was happy still. Never heard Communications live. I left State01 earlier than he played it.
Overall a great night, apart from the 50 year-old asian go-go dancers, WTF?!:conf: TA's were in full force! Too bad i didn't get a chance to meet more of you.:eyes: |

Yeah all those juiced up Gino's and super fake Gina's ruin the vibe!!!
:stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:
You shouldn't really be to concerned with other people; as long as you are there enjoying the vibe and the music and chilling with your friends it shouldn't matter; who else is there??? As everyone is out there to have a good time!!!!! Even the cracked up 60 year old vietnamese....
Anyways the night was great alot of classics and a great set by AVB!!! Also ran into soo many old friends ; and chilled with new friends!!! A little to packed at the begining( it was like a can of sardines!!!) but alot better after 3am!!! Overall the night was an 8.
Cut everyone a break!!!!!!
