Words "trance is dead", as I can see, can be heard all over the world)

^thats exactly it: I dont think its dead, but its no where near the same. the "Old days" were something magical that would be hard to replicate. trance is boring even *ME* nowadays and thats saying something. :(

I agree with you Kelly. Same for me. My Laptop at home has Trance from mostly 2002/2003/2004 and a couple of tracks from more recent years.
Like I said, Some songs still make you feel like the old days.

you guys need to stop commenting on the global state of trance based on the US or just NYC, trance is far from dead, just ask the 30 thousand people in this video.

I think that's true for a lot of genres though...
There are so many people putting out so many tracks it's getting harder and harder to sift through the crap to find the gems. Especially with the proliferation of sub-genres as everyone is trying to create their own name.
It will be interesting to see how it develops, but like rock or pop, you get a good record and then for 6-12 months everyone tries to recreate it instead of trying to push the genre further. ::shrug:: just my take on it.
Totally agree with the 2001-2004 for good trance sets/production.

people's taste evolves, it's a normal progression, but by no means is the genre dead. another reminder:

the health of a scene isn't measured by the thousands two or three superstar djs can draw; it's measured by the half-empty rooms, cancelled gigs and general indifference the majority of average trance djs encounter.
