i really, really, really hate the new design :whip: :whip: |
everybody went crazy when they first proposed it...I mean, just a huge backlash from everyone. And when you first see it, it does look kinda weird, but you definitely get used to it, and the benefits inside are so well worth it. It's a better stadium 100 times over now.
edit: I forgot to mention that part of the reason for the response was that, at first, they were going to make it a dome :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: . Now, that would have been truly horrible. I think they did a pretty good job of blending the two on the new one, though. |

not a good tell tale sign for the saints. they go 0-2, after yesterday's loss to the bills. historically, when the saints start the preseason on the wrong foot, the regular season continues on that path.
i can't tell the future of the saints, because although the running backs are great(mccalister and bush), the wide receivers are raw (colston, henderson, meachem, cooper). the good news is the saints didn't give up any 20+ yard plays. the bad news is it was the bills. |

| meh, I don't read into the preseason for anything but QB accuracy. |

when you've been following the saints for 15+ years, you can understand how the preseason is very important for the saints. :o |

| lol. that sucks. Well, the Bears went 1-3 in '01, and 2-2 last year, and came out 13-3 each year, so I guess I have a different perspective :p |

Drew Brees is just too god a guy to let that team lose... I mean, he's not an EXCELLENT QB, but he's got a great head on his shoulders... I just can't see them go back to below .500 football...
and BUSH will be amazing... I'd like a Saints/Pats Superbowl, it'd have perfect Story Lines as I said last year...
Bush is ready to be THE top guy for the NFL... over LT, Peyton, everyone...
Just wish they ditched Deuce... |

Saints will be good. Butters just has late 90's Rams-itis. That means your team was sooo bad for sooo long that you don't know how to react when they start winning. You're waiting for the bad stuff to come again.
I like Bush too. Brees is a very good QB. Colston will be money again, I don't think he was a one year wonder either.
By the way, Randy Moss will be 800 yards and 6 TD's TOPS this year. Dude has lost a couple of steps (early mind you because he doesn't care). This isn't the guy we were amazed at 6 years ago... |

Ima go 90 REC, 1100 Yds, 7 TD's...
too many guys to throw to... Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Watson, Butterfingers, Washington, Gaffney and the Legend...
so I can see Welker going crazy for like 1200 yds or something nuts.... I know Stallworth gets lost in the fold, but I'd like him to become a reliable 2nd option, but I'm reluctant to believe so, I still like Welker better as the #2 WR instead of Donte... |

did you just name the same person twice? :wtf:
i call reche caldwell "Eagle eyes". stallworth is the Butterfiners (how many open touchdowns he dropped is beyond me when he was with the Saints. sometimes i wonder if we should blame Aaron Brook's pass to him, or the fact Stallworth sucks). Because of Stallworth, i have fears about Robert Meachem. The last time we drafted a wide receiver in the 1st round, it was Stallworth. :nervous:
as for me being stuck in the mid to late 90s, i have fears. those times between eric martin and joe horn was painful. very painful. andre hastings? randall hill? michael haynes? haywood jeffries? sean dawkins? keith poole? lawrence dawsey? between 1995-1999 was a pain. the saints had practically NO OFFENSE whatsoever.
not saying the saints have any offense this year, but with raw talents at wide receiver, and a questionable defense, i am fearful. yes, they will give up the big plays. i will not be happy with the Saints defense until they do 2 major things : get some linebacker help, and release Fred Thomas. i have called him out several times, saying this guy gets burned on every play. he gets burned more times than charcoal at an indy 500 race.
and after reading this, you may think i hate the saints, but i don't. it's tough love. got to say the truth. :D |

| another addendum. Moss predictions from me? 65 catches, 1200 yards 15 touchdowns. 50% of his touchdowns will be 60+ yards and more. Knowing Billy Bel, he's going to take advantage of his deep threat, and Moss is going to be running all over that weak AFC East. i say 7 division touchdowns. |

| for the record, the Bears' defense looks awful today, but Grossman actually hit receivers, so yay, I guess. |
