lol .. hope I am not the only freak here like this

Havent slept yet either, but I cant walk without moaning, let alone be pumped to to do it again say tomorrow or something.
One thing I hate about these nights, is that they always pass in a flash, and all you have left in your head is on big happy fuzzy blur.

Spoke to some girl, she kept on going on and on about how this was her first 'rave' and how awesomme it was. I did the sensible mature guy thing, and just nodded, and went along with "aha, yep, mhm, thats right, at times, sure, exactly" She was having a great time, I lived vicarously through her. The memories :wtf:

SHIR KAHN's closing set in the Tent. WOW. Amazing

Left due to the high percentage of sketch. People were dancing, but I didn't feel the same vibe in the crowd, as the DJ was building on the decks. (in the tent)

Hello Boys and girls, my name is FatLip
and this is my friend Sammy the Salmon

''1 - 2''

Today, we're going to teach you some fun facts about Salmon,
And a brand new dance.

Let me introduce to you a brand new dance
I know you're gonna love it if you give it one chance
It's not complicated, it's not too hard
You don't even have to be a hip hop star

See anyone can do it, all you need is style
Listen up peep gang (?) I'm a show you how
Put your hands to the side, as silly AS SILLY AS IT SEEMs
And shake your body like a salmon floatin' up stream!

I'll float up stream
(you know how we do it, you know how we do it)
Again

*All my peeps spend part of their life in fresh water*
*And part of their life in salt water*

Wow, very interesting

*We change round a couple of days after spawning*
*Then we DIE* (?)

When I first did the Salmon all the people just laughed
They looked around and stood like I was on crack
I heard somebody say out loud what the is that
This nigga's dancin like a fish while he's doin' the snap

But the more I kept doing it the more they kept feelin' it
Tnd then I heard some bitches say yo that niggas killin' it
By the end of the night everyone was on my team
And the whole club was dancing like a salmon floatin' up stream!

I'll float up stream
(you know how we do it, you know how we do it)
again.

*Most of our friends find their home waters by their sense of smell*
*which is even more keen than that of a dog or a bear*

Wow.

*My family also rely on ocean currents, tides*
*The gravitational pull of the moon*

The moon? Fish pay attention to the moon? Wow.

*Did you know?*

What?

*That I could go to Japan, and back.*

You're kidding me. Amazing. Jeez.

*Polluted water can kill both baby salmon, that are developing*
*and the adult salmon, that are on their way to spawn.*

Wow what a shame, what a shame
Huh?
Woah.
Wow. Hey kids, hey give it up for Sammy the Salmon and his amazing salmon dance.
Huh? Whadda ya say?

most fun I've ever had at the guv. the traffic was kept smooth the entire night, always could find room to dance (was that really guv?) and the beats solid. i still find it hard to believe i was at a large guv event last night!
DnB FTW!! the sound in the drink was UNBELIEVABLE. too bad it was the only room w/ a bad traffic problem, couldn't stay there for too long cuz there was NO room. can't wait for a main event to throw the dnb into kh. would be solid. enjoyed danny and mstrkraft the most. the tent was sweet, lots of room and great temp.
but the best was simply running into to people everywhere, the glory of things not being too packed!! A+ to the setup this year. next year..... DnB in the kh!! (never going to happen)

Now for a more formal review.

Got to guv just before 10. There was just a small lineup and got in quickly. Seemed like everyone i went with disappeared so i decided to roam around guv by myself to check things out. Everything seemed to be in order and found a timeslot card and began to plan my night out. Decided to stay in the main room for nate and carlo. A lot of "Hey, do you post on TA?"s. Nice meeting a bunch of you. Finally ran into the people i went with and we partied up a bit but soon, we all went our separate ways and I ended up in the Orange room for some banging beats. Jay force and jakes were great. first time seeing both and delivered.

Some friends finally arrived. it was their first guv experience and so i gave them a full tour. we then settled in orange room and rocked it. i checked out 16 bit for a bit, enjoyed it but it seemed like they were looping the out of tracks and i decided to head back to orange room for some faster paced material. kaskade finally came on and not seeing him before and having a certain level of expectation, he delivered for me. orange room was just banging. it wasnt too busy but still rocking. I swapped between orange room and main room for danny a lot. at the beginning of the night, my only request from kaskade was for him to play Everything (kaskade's big room mix). And he did. I videod it. will post tomorrow after rogers comes to set up my internet (currently stealing internt but with very low signal). thanked him for playing it and he gave me a nice handshake.

Danny T was great but not phenomenal. Perhaps my expectations were a little high.. or he was still itching. his set went from tribal to minimal to techno to some random house and back to tribal. as said before, his set had some slow moments. those i chose to head back to orange room. still enjoyed it though.

then decided to check out kool haus for a bit. caught the last few tracks of sander and from that i could tell he had the crowd with his techiness. stayed for a few tracks of yahel and liked what he was playing but it was just too fast for me, after grooving to a much slower bpm in guv/orange. finished off the night @ guv/tent and left around 630ish... really early, but friends wanted to leave. now that i think about it, i should have stayed. oh well.

overall, LOL was surprising. IT wasnt very packed, as compared to last years (my first LoL experience). Felt that there was enough room to move except for skybar. like seriously, why would u want to stay @ skybar when u can see those guys every week. like skybar was packed more than mainroom guv. other than that, it seemed to be fairly tame.

will post some pics tomorrow and the kaskade vid. seems like i was having so much fun that i didnt take many photos/vids. guess its a good thing, but now my memories are limited and the night a blurr of fun

my sentiments exactly. i didn't see 2 friends i most wanted to see because they were at skybar all night, WTF? retarded. Harry Potter has this map that shows him where all his friends are all the time. I need this map

I went pretty early (10-10:30ish) and was glad I did.. the crowding was unbearable from about 11:30 to 1:30 but no complaints whatsoever outside of that time! not as bad as i expected at all

I listened to 16BLs for most of their opening set... in' progressive house! i remember rymd getting me and everyone around me all worked up... it was hard to try to relax knowing i had hours and hours ahead of me

i spent the next while trying to meet up with people and stuff, saw a little of blake jarrell, hearing arguru in kh was sweet

i had heard MSTRKRFT's singles and some of their bloc party/wolfmother remixes but purposely didn't go all out getting into their stuff cause i wanted to see them live first... needless to say if you were there it was AMAZING, stayed for the whole set:

but cro_addict... i don't believe what you were telling me still, lol.. no way in hell they did that :S...

me and the girl i was with somehow got to go behind the fence thing and dance there, gave me the chance to talk to JFK for a sec and get this pic... you can kind of see it here but he has a in' gold pendant of a hockey mask like in some of their photos etc., how badass is that?!?!

i was sad to not get really into any trance sets at all, only passed through every so often, everyone i was partying with kept me elsewhere :S oh well

danny tenaglia impressed me too, just like mstrkrft i didnt really get any of his sets cause i wanted to see what the fuss was about in person.. his tracks sounded soooo underground, i was told and believe that most arent released... he had the main room swinging around together like they were on puppet strings... i managed to get his ramblings around 10am on video too, NEW YORK IS A COUNTRY LOL:

it sucked that i didn't even see a lot of people i wanted to chill with more through the night, some not at all, but good meeting those of you for the first time that i did.. and to those i met at zone, dont worry usually i'm a LITTLE more sociable rofl.. some pics i got of TAs:

this was definitely my best time at guv yet, the vibe was unparallelled, EVERYONE knew it was labour day weekend and time to go all out!
greeko
i still have the sounds of suburban train vs yet another day in my head lol

Reading the reviews so far it's as if Yahel never even dropped a set that night haha :p ;).

As for SVD, although I wasn't at the party perhaps some of you were dissapointed maybe because his set was too commercial, or was it too underground? Somebody mentioned control freak and Sander usually does NOT drop that track these days unless he's specifically catering to a crowd.

Thing is a lot of DJs specifically "cater" to Toronto crowds because Toronto clubbers are mainly into trendy/commercial sounds. Just like with fashion, it takes years for trends that originated overseas to show up here on our shores. Tiesto, SVD, and Armin are just some of the names that specifically "cater" sets to Toronto crowds and play commercial music more than usual.

i have one more video to share, a compilation of clips from throughout the night... has anyone ever seen the patio worse than this? i can't get over the sketched out fidel castro and the random desi playing drums with CRUSHED WATER BOTTLES. maybe going past 10 was a bit of a stretch lol... the crazy dancer and the guy asking where the CN tower is none other than mike safari, if you don't know who he is you are way out of the loop

warning: watching this video will most likely result in you being less intelligent and happy than you previously were
