Well, I have to say that most people who thought Danny T was good have not seen him play when he REALLY plays well. That was, by far, the worst Danny T set I have ever heard. He had a couple of solid bits (hour 2 or so) but besides that, it was a discontinuous and overall boring set for me. He was fantastic at Twilo at WMC Miami this year...and this was the exact opposite.

I hope this does not spell the end of an era for the great legend. I've seen him play at least 8 times and he has never disappointed, except for this Labor of Love.

BTW, I think he may be losing his hearing as well...he slipped up on mixes a few times (I heard this happen at Sundance in Monreal last year too)...maybe I'm just being too picky, but come on...we are talking about the master Danny T.

I have to say, based on what I've heard, I should have spent time with Armin instead. I left Danny's show early (around 530 AM) out of pure frustration and boredom.

Oh well, I guess there's always Sasha in a few weeks....hope he actually looks up from his Abbleton screen and listens to the music and connects with the crowd like the old days.

Can't wait for the real show of the fall, IMO: Behrouz at The Docks!

I'm with you on all of these points. My review exactly. After seeing Danny T last summer I went into this party with very high expectations. Maybe I set the bar too high, but even still....his set was a big meh to me. He did nothing whatsoever at this party to set himself aside from any average dj playing banging tunes to a bunch of botched individuals.

here's my late review.. will try to keep it short.

highlights -

Partying with friends - old and new, TA's and non-TA's alike. As always great partying/bumping into the old school TAs.

Marg/RJ - beautiful people who bring a smile to anyones face. Forgive me if I hurt you guys from my brutal hug :D ... was just too happy stumbling into you guys.
Ben - always fun to be around. Don't change bro! Looking forward to more fun times ahead.
NYTA's - Kelly, Meredith, Jay, Adi? - Glad to meet you bunch, though we didn't get to chat much. I just couldn't hear a word with my earplugs on, loud music and my drunken stupor. You guys are truely inspirational - passionate, fun, energetic and willing to travel miles to party and meet friends. I don't know how you all do it. come back soon! :)
AJ (Abercrombie) Nice seeing you for a sec too. Always trying to make people laugh.. bro when I age (that's a better word than how I worded it at the bbq), I hope I'm as passionate and energetic as you in life. Not implying you're old, so please don't take it as an offence.. though I'm certain a fun guy like you will never lol :D You're an inspiration like many here. Hope to see you more often.

It was also nice stumbling upon unexpected friends at Guv - bro's friends from school and high-school classmate Kathryn, who Ben brought along. Is there anyone you don't know Ben? :D so glad you brought her out. Its a small world indeed. Call me out when Tracey is in Toronto. I haven't seen her in years... have tried setting up something but our schedules just didn't coinside, to the point where we both don't try anymore. :D

...didn't get to meet many TA's as I wanted to.. totally missed the meetup spot, and there're just too many new TA's for me to recognize, given the fact that I come out party once every 4 months or so.

I won't comment much music wise, but I did dance my ass off to whatever was offered. I haven't been following the scene lately, and came in with little expectations, besides to PARTY HARD, after the past 4 months of hell in school.
ARMIN - meh! I was in KH for his whole set, but besides the occasional highlights, I didn't even realize when he got on and off the decks. Maybe I was too drunk, but he's come a long way from when I first saw him debut at the Docks. Doesn't seem to have a special identity anymore, if you ask me.
Danny T First time seeing him, and enjoyed it.. He kept me moving until I left around 7am. I would've stayed till the end but my friend, Vince_Inc on TA, was done for the night.

Always a pleasure partying with you guys. You people seriously are one of the friendliest, energetic, least jaded bunch I've met anywhere (validated further from the amazing bbq this weekend). Sorry if I missed anyone, I was wayyy too drunk on Sunday to recall your names ... but it sure was great partying with you.

I plan to go to NYC to visit some class-mates interning there, around late October. Anyone thinking of giving the NYTA's a visit? PVD@Roseland? Let me know!! :) that's all for now... here are a few of my pics that survived. A lot were over-exposed, wrong settings, headless shots etc... expected when drunk

^^^^^ After a whole bottle of wine, a few beers, plus a few shots, that's what my night felt like.. :D
