I tried taking a video of Danny T at Guv. I actually had no idea that he was against videos since a)they don't record the sound properly anyways, and b)half the web is filled with his stupid antics. Why do stuff in the booth, and then expect people not to want to record it if they can? Just a 10 second blurb to make him more of a legend. So he flipped out on me and said: "NO, NO, NO, NO videos. STOP IT NOW!" Ruined the entire night for me. Not just from that point on but the entire night. He could have a) not flipped out like a whiny and asked me nicely or b) not bring down the stage the whole night or c) played well to keep me dancing and not be bored out of my skull and trying to entertain myself.
I knew he was a jerk/diva but that was the straw. Get over yourself. Or are you just being yourself? |

I agree with what Tenaglia was saying but not with how he said it. Oh well, that's beside the point...his rant was more entertaining than anything. The point is that a contract has been breached, allegedly. This involves not just him being diva-ish but some copyright issues that are compromising other producers' work as well. He is not only protecting himself...
Danny is exercising his right to be able to do something about it, reminds me of Metallica when they spearheaded the eventual morphing/downsizing of Napster. It's very different when you are in their shoes, to see the work you do (and yes, much of it is work) pilfered and illegally disseminated, especially when you have taken steps BEFOREHAND. That would be personally frustrating.
In terms of being able to do nothing about it, I actually disagree. He is simply being proactive, whereas others take that defeat-ist attitude and let themselves be steamrolled.
Danny obviously isn't doing this for money, he's making his dough. It's basically on principle, something many of us don't understand unless it's done to us. |

Yes, because that was clearly what I was trying to convey in my post.
One who knows their history doesn't have to be personal friends with the guy to know what Danny's like. Anybody with a clue would consider it common knowledge I think. So I fail to see how my post was odd. |

Don't get me wrong, though I do see where Danny's coming from, I'm not trying to come off as his number one advocate. More like the Devil's advocate. :p |

lol. don't make this about morality. it really has nothing to do with it.
danny doesn't like pictures and videos taken of him because he is not photogenic at all. i wouldn't like photos being take either.
and going on about how a terrible crime has been done against humanity because a set was recorded, is just lame. why not simply say "I didn't authorize this recording, it's out there now so it's too late, and the rest of the DJs please be advised of this club". But seriously to go on and on like this letter did is beyond lame and looks absolutely bad on his part. (I am Danny T, look at all the friends I have, I will ruin you to the ground).
how about all the AIDS in africa. where is danny t's letter about that? |
