Quick Question about LA

I'm visiting the LA area from the 22nd to the 28th and I was just wondering if there were any good spots to catch some trance on at least one of these nights. I really want to hit up some trance clubs, but I'm unfamiliar with the scene there. I'm in the New York scene every weekend, and I'm hoping I can find something at least a little comparable.
Any help or any links would be greatly appreciated! |

Hi there!
This Saturday: RED@CIRCUS in Hollywood. It's one of the biggest venues with one of the coolest vibes around. No dress code, friendly staff, outside Mexican grill, and there's usally always some TRANCE being played there. :D

I suggest you party hop.
Circus ---> Vanguard ----> Avalon (just to hit up all 3 clubs).
Sunday (During the day)
Standard Rooftop ---> Joseph's |

| i would reccommend the compression party on dec 28th. If you are into the music, its not really trance...more minimal tech stuff, but should make for a fun party. |

If you want to see what an empty mega-club looks like, then sure, go to Circus. As a venue, it's pretty nice. It would be nicer if there were some people there and some DJ's worth hearing. But neither of those things are going to occur. Circus, as a popular venue, died a long, LONG time ago.
If you want an honest answer about having a good time at a club here in L.A. by someone on this board who doesn't have a vested interest and/or is NOT a promoter (me), then let me suggest that you hit up Vanguard for the "GIANT" show there.
It is by far the best mega-venue in L.A.; Best sound system, best visual presentation, best patio, best crowd (all things considered) and best DJ's compared to all others. Their 12/22 show will EASILY top Circus's show. DJ Dan isn't exactly trance, but I'm sure you'll enjoy his stuff a lot more than "DJ-Who the is that??" over at Circus. So don't even waste your time or money by going there...honestly.

They're also doing a Crystal Method show in Newport Beach on the 27th that you might be interested in.

Bad advice ^ from someone that hardly goes out or even knows any DJs, especially local DJs that are playing for a Charitable cause.
