Berlin Love Parade, I need your help

I have a few things to ask, so please bare with me.
Me and a friend are heading to Berlin for the Love Parade on July 13th.
I have just checked a site which checks around all of Berlin's hostels, and according to that, most places are already booked out. Everywhere is booked out for Sat. 13 July, and places for surrounding days are running out.
We'll need somewhere to sleep/leave our stuff on the 13/14th. We can't afford hotels, so does anyone know of any hostels in Berlin which have vacancies for those dates, or if not, any cheap B&Bs?
We hope to arrive early in July, maybe the 5th/6th, so we can see the city and German culture, before the city gets absolutely packed out for this huge event. We plan to stay for 2/3 weeks.
I know Berlin has a huge reputation for underground events and good clubbing, but will all the after-parties for the Love Parade be booked out long before? Also, being a Brit who can't speak German (my mate can speak a tiny amount), is there any realistic chance of getting into one of these underground/illegal events that Berlin is supposed to be full of? One more thing; how do I ask for ecstacy in Germany? Can someone tell me the correct 'street language' in German please?
Lastly, can anyone recommend any good techno or trance nightclubs in Berlin? And is anyone else going to this? If so, would you be interested to meet-up and show me a little of the city?
Any little hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I am probably going.. gotta see if i can find a place to stay. Last year, i stood in a hotel that was about 45 DM/person, but i am not 100% sure anymore..
as for the street lingo, i really don't know, but i'd be interested as well.
If you are a PvD fan, then you need to go to love From Above on the Friday before.. I have 0 clue about the underground scene in Berlin :(
Most parties are not booked out before, i have never had advance tickets in the last two years and never had a problem getting in anywhere..
I hope that all the TA's going there will be able to meet up at some point or another. If I am going, i certanly want to meet some of the other people from around :) |

This is a site where you can search for availability :)
I placed an option on the SORAT Hotel Ambassador Berlin for 5 rooms. It's 90 Euro per room per night and it's almost right next to Tiergarten Sud (South)! Wooh!
There weren't much hotels available but if you search well you're bound to find smth :)
The site also has a hotel called smth like Oranienburg which has a special Loveparade Arrangement, but it's not very close to Tiergarten (where it's held)
Drizzzzzzzzzt (k) I need to know which hotel you'll end up in! It would be superb if we're closeby eachother :)

I found a website for bed and breakfasts, but it's in German :(
this link: http://www.bedandbreakfast.de/berli...n_id100361.html is for a youthhostel around the Tiergarten Area, for which you pay 15 euros per person per night and 3 euros for breakfast. There's a bookingform on the bottom of the page.

Where and when is this Paul van Dyk night? I'm not a huge fan of the tunes he plays, but damn that man can mix! How much is the Paul van Dyk night?
I am really at a push to afford this holiday, so every penny saved will make a difference. Miss Proximus, I think I might need some help understanding these German sites. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did see some hostel which charges only 9 euros per night. Although that's only a few euros cheaper, if we are staying for 3 weeks then saving 5 euros a night is over 100 euros in total. Personally, coming from where I do, I don't care where I sleep so long as it's a roof over my head and a place to leave my stuff. So it's cheap cheap cheap all the way :D

Their search only goes through about 5 hostels. There are spaces left on some nights, but they're all booked out for the 13th. "A&O Backpackers Hostel" is 9 euros per night. Ideally I'd like to find somewhere with similar prices.
I'll add you to my msn, it's probably the first time I've signed into it for 2 months though, I can never be arsed.
I'd love to meet you lot. I'd really love to check out Berlin's notorious underground techno scene, but if we don't have any luck, the city will be packed with after-parties anyway. |

It's not very close to the LP, but it's about the only hotel reasonably priced with still 5 rooms available! And free use of pubic transport!! ;)

funny fact: I worked nearby two summers ago.. cheap food gallore -if you are someone who needs to eat :D |

Everywhere is booked out on the 13th, but that's ok since we don't plan to sleep on the 12th or 13th. However, surrounding dates are tricky.
The cheapest I've found is A&O backpackers, which is 9 euros per night. However, they aren't free on the 11th either, nor the 14th.
If we can't find anywhere with the whole week free it looks like we'll be chopping and changing from hostel to hostel, which if it comes to it we're prepared to do, but obviously would rather not.
If you can recommend anywhere (it's difficult for me to find, as I can only read the English sites) then it would be a big help. |

drizzt81, I definitely plan to be out on the Friday night (12th).
Whether or not I'll go to the PvD night depends on the cost, and what alternative nights are on, and what time it closes.
Do you know what time it's on until? What do you guys plan on doing between the time that finishes and when the love parade starts at 12? Will yous just be grabbing a few hours sleep or staying out for about 36 hours?
Oh and do you know the cost of this PvD night?
