...is that suppose to be cheeky in some way and does it stop you from being TA's lamest patron? I think my oldest and most used TA handle was EnfuseDub which for some reason doesnt even come up in searches.

is fairly good at arrangement, EDM music theory, club music theory.

supposing there is something as ridiculous as "EDM music theory", or should I say "Electronic Dance Music Music Theory", as if it's different than other kinds of dance music or music in general for that matter... how the can you lump all the presuppositions, ideas, and techniques of every form of electronic dance music into one single "united theory of everything".

this is the first thing that shows how misguided you are

the second thing is that you seem to not know the difference between theory and practice. theory is hypothetical, untested, conceptual. practice is actually doing the thing. many who practice don't even think about theory. any kinds of techniques or traditions come down as rules of thumb and/or trade standards.

deadmau5 is a practical producer, not a theoretical producer.

please don't make it seem like every artist out there somehow subconsciously taps into some magical ether of 'edm music theory'

i do have a personal "theory of dance music", but I realize that it is only personal and can in no way be applied to anything beyond my own deejaying and productions.
Floorfiller
my guess is he won't be remembered just like a 1000 other producers...

You read into things a bit too much. Besides, as long as you are here I'm quite safe.

Here we go with another "teh EDM theory bible doesnt exists, therefore EDM music theory no exists."

To practice it you have to conceptualize it, how do you practice something that requires crafting music a user can interface with in a way you want them to without conceptualising it first? It requires music theory. And the next stage of this thread will go into semantics...joy.

Your probably familiar with Burial - Archangel, since its the most maintstream track off the Untrue album, how do you think Burial came up with the music he produced for that track and if you've heard the album...the entire album. By simply practicing?

ps: i never said every aritst subconciously taps into edm music theory, i specifically said the talented artists and the ones that make great music do. Not every producer knows edm music theory, only a small percentage do, and they are the ones you probably champion the most, without knowing they "practice" edm theory when they produce their music.

AMEN BROTHER. But just give up arguing, it's pointless...I gave up after calling it basically an OPINION and he disagreed although a definition of theory can be "an emphasis of opinion" or as I remember learning in school, it can also be described as "credible opinion" ... but again, found it pointless to even keep going ...
