Forget that there are peer-reviewed studies and other trustworthy sources providing research and statistics...
It's hilarious that those arguing against this can't just apply basic logic and think about how foreskin would contribute to increased risk of STDs.
It's really not that ludicrous of an idea. I mean, if you have half a brain. |
Sorry, half my brain was removed during a botched circumcision.
Would you mind explaining to me why it is so obvious to you that having a foreskin contributes to increased risk of STD's? |

Would you mind explaining to me what's so hard about actually reading the relatively brief news stories you feel compelled to comment on even though it's abundantly clear you're not quite sure what you're on about?

Lol, are you playing stupid?
Haven't you ever seen foreskin? It creates the perfect environment for bacteria and other organisms to get trapped and survive.
There's plenty of evidence to support this. When I get some time I'll hunt down some articles. Lots of stuff in my nursing texts that supports this as well. |

Is there any reason why a foreskin would pick up infection more than the open penis? |
Yes.
| quote: |
Biologic Plausibility
Compared with the dry external skin surface, the inner mucosa of the foreskin has less keratinization (deposition of fibrous protein), a higher density of target cells for HIV infection (Langerhans cells), and is more susceptible to HIV infection than other penile tissue in laboratory studies [2]. The foreskin may also have greater susceptibility to traumatic epithelial disruptions (tears) during intercourse, providing a portal of entry for pathogens, including HIV [3]. In addition, the microenvironment in the preputial sac between the unretracted foreskin and the glans penis may be conducive to viral survival [1]. Finally, the higher rates of sexually transmitted genital ulcerative disease, such as syphilis, observed in uncircumcised men may also increase susceptibility to HIV infection [4].

It's not just Theresa, it's most of humanity's prerogative to deny any kind of scientific study until they experience the phenomenon for themselves.
I understand this, being a climate scientist. |
