i'm 25, and i'm definitely not where i pictured myself some 10 years ago. hell, i didn't even picture myself here some 5 years ago.

+1. I think I began to feel bad about my age last year, when most plans I had simply fell apart.

sometimes i sit at work in my office and think about if sitting at my desk waiting for a work email to pop up is the point of life...then i know what that answer is and it makes me want to quit lol...

In that sense, I really like my job. Although my salary is not that good, I can freely listen to audio books and philosophical discussion while I'm at work.

honestly, i just didn't know where the i was going. sure, "go to college, get a job, blah blah blah" the same vague that everyone has. i never said, "i WANT to be HERE" you know?

, i didn't even think about the military until i was at IA State....and if i had ditched that one intro class, i would have missed the presentation about AF WX and i God only knows where i'd be now. probably grad school :nervous::mad: :unasty:

I've had about a douzen or so similar instances - it's funny how many small insignificant events can completely alter the course of your life.

In that sense, I kinda had to fight in order to be where I am now. Had I went on studying foreign affairs, simply because of social (and mainly family) pressure, sure, I'd have just have aimlessly drifted to an uncertain goal.

When I turned 20, however, I realised that was not what I wanted in life. I dropped out and applied for Japanese Language. During that first semester, not only I realised I had control over my life, I got scared as hell :D

... exactly. And then I also wonder how many days, months, years I've spent waiting in lines, on the phone, in traffic, for a doctors appointment, etc. etc. the list goes on and on. I mean I was supposed to sitting out on patios all day drinking belgian brews eating cheese, climbing Kili and sleeping in the sand. Now I piss, eat, work 9-5, come home, and sleep. On repeat. And even scarier is that if I DID quit, for some ODD reason ( you society) my thoughts are that life would be even worse.... than sitting... waiting.... daydreaming....sitting... waiting..... for that email. :stongue: Oh god, cheers all.

Oh& I'm bustin' my ass in grad school while others are... well, construction workers, Time Warner customer service or Breadeaux pizza managers. At least that's nice!
