Crap, I didn't even recognise that as Dali, though I have seen it before (awesome brain is awesome). I love Dali's stuff. Hallucinogenic Torreadore is up on my office wall.

What kind of arts degree did you do? EDIT// What major?

Associate's/General - it's basically THE most bull degree you can conceive of. :stongue:

Why do you think I lash out at everyone? There ya go.

Hey, he's got a job.

Probably.

Can't comment on the slacker part though.

So far as American educations go, you can gain an Associate's Degree without majoring - I've essentially taken every 'required' course I can while still maintaining a nebulous consistency of art-related courses. In other words, I am poised to get a Bachelor's Degree if I would only choose a Major, and then I would only need to take those Major courses to get my Bachelor's. But, seeing as how I am an

it may take me some time to decide exactly what in the world of art degrees I would like to learn more about. Not that any of them would help me get a job because, let's face it, it's still a ing art degree. :stongue:

And yeah, I have a steady job that pays considerably well given the amount of work I have to do to maintain its status. Though it has -all to do with art. :p

depressing? pfft...
I've been 20 for only a few months, and while i'm not getting wasted every weekend, i can't see myself slowing down, even into my 30's. Rather, i can't see a reason why i would. I've no desire to ever marry, and kids are a very distant option. my carreer (the education for which i'm currently pursuing) has been my goal since i was 13 or so, so hopefully things will turn out there. though i guess other people do change, and it's hard to do young things when all of your friends are old.

the 1/4 way mark is depressing though.

I got one of those for my birthday a while back, along with their logo shirt [ :-( ]. Good stuff. I may have to make another order soon, since they have some newer shirts that I've never seen.

Anyway..

24... yeah. Several months ago I was waiting for a call back from my date, today I was waiting for a call from thin film/foil laminate company in England. Priorities have changed. Sadly, neither happened. (Now the mug makes sense, I guess)

Oooh. We can't really do that here.

Edit: I could be wrong. I took my Psych degree under 'arts' ( :wtf: )

Twas awesome, as I got (i think) 8 years to finish the undergrad part of the degree. Hence, I went Euro traveling 6 months in to my studies lol.

Finished it when I got back, and did the honours year. Need another 2 years of Masters/Intern study/stuff if I actually wanna practice (not ing likely).

BUT. I had to pick a major before I started. Kind of...

I'm 28. Sure, I occasionally 'miss my youth' but I think that's rubbish. Every year, since I was 17 (when I gained my freedom, leaving home), things have gotten better. Sure there is some stuff in there that I would describe as 'really crap' or 'particularly ing average' (possible Australianism) - But it's all good.

I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything. They all give me a better way of conducting my life, so I don't things up like I have in the past.

Between 17 and 26 I was much the same, except I didn't see all the horrible things between that formative period as being anything but, just damn horrible.
In fact I still do.
I think that's why I just buried myself in work and making money, the whole 'life's experiences' thing was just too unbearable to come to terms with and now that things have cooled off to some degree I might find time to enjoy something of a 'youth' that I never had.
Because while everyone else at that age was going out, having fun and the worst they had to contend with was picking which nightclub or gig to go too and picking what to wear, I was probably working late paying off my 1st house, getting a flight to some damn country under contract sales, staff training or whatever.
No time for friends, relationships, fun or anything else.

Ah well, its just one of those things that 'has to be done', much like everything else you don't enjoy but keeps you off skid row

I have plenty of time for that, and dabble in it quite a bit, but do not find myself fulfilled by the rites of youth. I don't think you've missed anything, really. In fact, I regard you as quite characteristic for having refrained from it for so long, perhaps out of necessity, perhaps out of fear and habit - either way, cliche as it sounds, your mindset is what is most important, and I think you to have a very youthful consideration of people and events, despite a somewhat haggard perspective given personal experiences probably gone awry. So don't worry. Nothing passed you by - if anything, you passed the bad by, and the unnecessary learning experiences of others have no bearing upon someone so esteemed as yourself. Just be happy that you are in a stable state at your age. It's a rarity, if you ask me.

//But what do I know about anything, much less about you? :p
