lol funny thing though. P3 1.13 Tualatin owned the first launch cpu's of the P4. thats why they killed the retail channel so quickly after the p4 launched. they didnt even allow retail to exhaust their storage of them. they sold them all to OEMs. was quite funny. |

i stopped upgrading, it's impossible to keep up with all this bull especially when game developers are focusing so much on providing more eye candy than actual gameplay.

exactly why i quit playing games. they are just boring now. they dont even have the substance. games like UT and Tribes had a ton of substance. now its all gutless . |

same here, i used to be SO into competitive gaming around 01-05 with the medal of honor series (i'm still using the mousepad i wrote all the ip's and console commands down on) and it really died for me around the end of 05. i mean, you CAN'T even really find a decent FPS on PC anymore.
when crysis was coming out everyone was all OGMOGMOGMOGMOGMOMGOGM about it. then it finally comes out, and you realize that there is nothing to that game but physics and graphics. same thing happened to the past 2 medal of honor games that came out after spearhead, they focused on competing against other developers with graphics and totally abandoned the classic gameplay they had. so bad that about 90% of the original competitive community ditched the franchise.
the only decent FPS's around now are COD4 and the few things from valve, and valve is probably the only company i'd trust these days with still delivering somewhat addicting shooters.
in high-school we had a huge amount of game devs come to my animation/3d modeling class and all showcased us some pretty cool looking games on paper. they babbled on about how sophisticated and 'ground-breaking' their new engine is and how the physics work so naturally with the environment!! but when you asked them "so how about that gameplay?" it was all so bland.
at least that's my .02 :p

if it's running significantly slower than day one you perhaps may want to consider a clean reinstall |
